Cung Giu Nguyên is known as one of the most important francophone writers in Vietnam, especially with novels such as Le fils de la baleine, Le domaine maudit and Le boujoum. Each of these works hides behind the mythical world of writing the author’s meditations on the hectic, chaotic and absurd realities. Le domaine maudit is the result of these reflections. It deals mainly with misfortune suffered by the individual, family and society. The purpose of this paper is to reconstruct the enunciation of the narrative.
Owing to Georges Schéhadé’s investment of powers of dreams which lead to existence and generate thoughts out of any preset direction, Georges Schéhadé’s theatre can be considered very close to surrealism. These powers of dreams can rediscover the world, give access to another reality and resolve fundamental life questions. In addition, Georges Schéhadé’s theatre and surrealism are similar in resorting to mysterious practices, occult research and the world of the “marvellous” which emanates from the world of dreams. This latter world consists of extraordinary random events or premonitions, visions, perceptions and sensations bringing about confusion of identities and a strange …

The Imprint Of Foucault’S The Order Of Things On The Works Of François Jacob, Harry Newcomb
The Imprint Of Foucault’S The Order Of Things On The Works Of François Jacob, Harry Newcomb
Anthós
My intent is to examine the interplay between Michel Foucault’s The Order of Things, originally published in France as Les Mots et les choses (Words and Things) in 1966, François Jacob’s history of heredity, The Logic of Life, published in France in 1970, and his autobiography, The Statue Within, 1987.

Cixous, Hélène, Abigail Rine
Faculty Publications - Department of English
Excerpt: "Hélène Cixous is a highly prolific Francophone theorist, poet, novelist, playwright, philosopher, and literary critic: indeed, she is a writer whose work resists easy categorization. Although the majority of her publications are works of experimental fiction, she is most widely known in the English-speaking world for her contributions to French feminist and literary theory and for formulating the concept of écriture feminine, or feminine writing."

À La Recherche Du «Bourgeois»: Drame Sérieux Et Tentations Narratives Chez Diderot, Olivier M. Delers
À La Recherche Du «Bourgeois»: Drame Sérieux Et Tentations Narratives Chez Diderot, Olivier M. Delers
Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Faculty Publications
Trauma And The Representation Of The Unsayable In Late Twentieth-Century Fiction, Katina Rogers
Trauma And The Representation Of The Unsayable In Late Twentieth-Century Fiction, Katina Rogers
Publications and Research
This dissertation explores the ways in which several fiction writers from France, the U.S., and Latin America experiment with the form of their works in writing about traumatic experience, as they navigate the tension between a propulsion toward expression and toward silence. Some of these traumas are vast, as in Edmond Jabès’ Le livre des questions (1963-1973), which addresses not only the Holocaust, but also questions of exile and identity. Others are on a smaller scale, such as Jacques Roubaud’s Quelque chose noir (1986), Julio Cortázar's Los autonautas de la cosmopista (1983), and Macedonio Fernández’s Museo de la Novela de …
