Since the emergence of detective fiction in African francophone novel in the 1990s, many critical studies have been devoted to it. However, there are a few stereotypes and themes that a certain critique of generic obedience brings to light when it comes to analyzing the aesthetic and epistemological value of the African thriller. Some of these studies are in fact limited to the ways in which many writers adapt general aesthetic conventions of this genre, without looking at the ways these authors innovate in their works. This study is structed around three components. It begins with a brief reflection on the paradox of the existence in university education of two literary institutions – French literature and Francophone literatures – whose works are nevertheless written in the same language (French). Then the article proposes a transcultural and transnational approach to overcome such dichotomy – France and French-speaking peripheries – by a methodology based on the principle of unity in the diversity of the elements of the texts from three aspects: literary genre, language/speech, and intertextuality. Figures of vulnerability abound in contemporary francophone novels. Be it children soldiers, Black women in Monenembo and Kourouma's fictions, abused children or prostitution in Marie NDiaye, Fiston Mwanza and Fatou Diome's novels, the vulnerable subject, far from undergoing torments of a decadent and miserable life due to a situation of lack, often shows or hides a strength that often sharpens on contact with violence. Fatou Diome uses silence and writing to express the character's resistance to violence. This study looks at vulnerability in its full complexity through an analysis at the interstice of sociology and rhetoric of the book Genealogie d'une banalite by Sinzo Aanza. The inhabitants of the poor neighbourhood of the Bronx decide to overcome their misery by digging under their dwellings, in search of copper to sell to the Chinese. This access to money brings them to relish in certain pleasures. The characters live in an enclosed environment that, through the instability of their representation, becomes the space of multiple enigmas: social, sexual and emotional. Vulnérabilité Et Isolement Dans Rosie Carpe De Marie Ndiaye, Amélie Michel

This article focuses on the topic of vulnerability and the ambivalence of the heroine's strategies of resistance in Marie NDiaye's novel Rosie Carpe. The analysis of Rosie's detachment, oblivion and fantasy demonstrates how memory, consciousness and imagination can become areas of resistance in front of an unbearable reality. As a matter of fact, Rosie proposes an inner reconfiguration of the reality which, by its oversights and alterations, gives her the possibility to escape suffering, obligation and sin. The article analyzes the (re)configuration of space towards female resistance in Cette fille-là by Marssa Bey and La voyeuse interdite by Nina Bouraoui. The two authors portray deviant female characters who refuse to be caught up in the social enclave governed by patriarchal law. In these works, the assertion of identity is interdependent on the unfolding of space which opts for denouncing or liberating the voice, the body and the feminine individuality. Monde Étrange/Étranger-Monde : Chant D'Une Heureuse Fragilité Dans Cacophonie De Ken Bugul, Anaïs Metoukson

This paper analyzes the psychological vulnerability of a wandering and traumatized feminine character in Ken Bugul's novel Cacophonie. It is argued that vulnerability, presented both as a creative and destructive force, is conveyed using an aesthetic of strangeness. Disturbances accumulate on the figurative, event and semantic levels, maintaining an hesitation between supernatural and natural explanations of the narrative process. However, those same troubles also allow a diving into the pain of a lonely spirit. Ultimately, this psychic maze offers a breakaway, given as a consented and redefined fragility. Maryse Condé has successively been branded as unseemly drifter, insolent, rebel and subversive, due to the fluidity of her mind and her refusal to be fixated on any obsolete idea. Her stance shows a tendency to evolve with her time in political and intellectual thoughts. If Condé's entire work shows that the author cannot be placed in a specific straightjacket, it is because her writing conveys the urgency of daily experiences. After studying the narrative figures at work in Maryse Condé's novels Traversée de la Mangrove (1989) and La vie sans fards (2012), our article questions the obvious valorization of stories and of storytelling shown as ambiguous in the textual space, because they are shown as indefinite, polysemic and uncertain. In the textual universe, the ambiguous narrative is especially sought after because it is updatable, by the enunciator as much as by the instance addressed. We suggest that this characteristic of the ambiguous and renewable story and of storytelling is also performed in Maryse Condé' works. In our view, this corresponds …

Maryse Condé's plays reveal both a scriptural and thematic dynamism. This movement manifests a commitment that renews itself through the dramatization of varied sociopolitical current events. The first plays of the Guadeloupean showcase slavery, colonization and Independence. The problematic of the future of Black peoples flowing from them resounds differently in her recent works. Maryse Condé complexifies it indeed and updates it constantly. This makes her an unconventional author, for her writing takes roots in negritude, partakes in post-negritude and proceeds equally from a dramaturgy of uprootedness.

This article shows the committed relations of the Caribbean author to education and its stakes. We will proceed to the identification and the analysis of the symptoms of a modern school and a world both in global crisis, as shown in the autobiographical and critique writing of Condé.

The birth of the Negro Renaissance movement in Harlem (USA), at the beginning of the 1920s, had a remarkable impact on the destiny of the black peoples of Africa, especially in their fight for independence. Having experienced slavery and segregation, the AfroAmerican intellectuals fought continuously in the quest for dignity and freedom. In so doing, their actions and ideas inspired their African counterparts to devise ways and means in their anticolonial fight. This impact, in addition to other factors, inherently led to the 1956 and 1959 Congresses held in Paris and Rome respectively. The purpose of these meetings was to …
