This year's annual meeting of the SAHS will take place on Saturday, December 30, in New Orleans, in connection with the national convention of the American Historical Association. On the program we have the regular business meeting to begin at 10 a.m. in the Rare Books Conference Room of the Tulane University Library, a luncheon at the T. Pittari Restaurant, an afternoon session with papers at the First Presbyterian Church, and cocktails and dinner in one of the plush New Orleans restaurants. As reported previously, "Articles of Incorporation of Swiss American Historical Society" were filed with the Recorder of Deeds, Washington, D. C., on March 23, 1970. This was a relatively smooth and simple procedure. However, the chief object of incorporating our society was reached only after considerable aditional effort.

The New York annual meeting of December 12, 1970, decided to create two new committees, a nominating committee and a publications committee. According to Article VI, Section 2, of the SAHS Constitution the president "shall appoint special committees for research work, the printing and publishing of pamphlets periodicals and books and such other specific activities as may be deemed necessary in carrying out the objects and purposes of this Society." On his initiative, at our Regional Meeting in New York of May 2nd, 1969, Professor Barbara Siche:rman of Manhattanville College gave us a lecture on the life career of the Swiss American pioneer in psychiatry, Dr. med.
