The Structure Of Ethics In The Early Christian Church: A Sourcebook, James Edward Shaul

Rather than construct a moral monolith, or argue for any specific ethical position, the goal of this thesis is to lay a foundation upon which an ethical system can be built. The goal of this thesis is to construct a solid base of information that will inform and help direct discussion in Christian ethics. In finding a common base, the Christian community may not necessarily find moral consensus, but it certainly is hoped that is can find common understanding and therefore some measure of intellectual unity. A Study Of The Syracusan Coins From The Ottilia Buerger Collection, Kelly Swett
Lawrence University Honors Projects
The study of Syracusan numismatics is illustrated through the examination of thirteen coins from the Sicilian city in the Ottilia Buerger Collection of Lawrence University. The coins range in date from the fifth to the third century B.C. Although their major function was economic, the Syracusan coins have continually been the objects of admiration and study even from ancient times. In the past, studies of Syracusan coins have usually been limited to one topic, and, in general, style has rarely been discussed. Herodotus' Use Of Prospective Sentences And The Story Of Rhampsinitus And The Thief In The "Histories", Rosaria Vignolo Munson

The "Histories" of Herodotus is analyzed in terms of performance rather than as a text to be read. Herodotus' discourse appears composed of different types of sentences or groups of sentences, which can be classified in terms of their different performative roles and force.
