In the years 1951 and 1957, excavations were conducted at Tel ‘Erani (map ref. unknown), under the direction of Sh. Yeivin. The documents in the 1956 excavation file (&-20/1956) mention excavation areas A, B, C, E, and F. An additional excavation report for Area G is also in the file, according to which four strata were exposed on the western slopes of the tell: In the first stratum, the remains of a casemate wall that was dated to the Iron Age 2 were exposed. In 1961, an archaeological excavation was conducted on Sderot Ha-Tziyonut in Tel Aviv (Jamasin al-Gharbi, Jabotinsky Street; map ref. 1804/6659), under the direction of J. Kaplan. Remains of a settlement dating to the Chalcolithic period were uncovered, consisting primarily of pits.

In November 1960, a trial excavation was conducted in Tel Erani, near Qiryat Gat, in an area designated for the textile industry (map ref. unknown). The excavation was directed by E. Yeivin. Two channels were excavated, in which walls and building remains were discovered. The excavator noted that the finds in the excavation were very poor, and consisted of few fragments of pottery and glass, only some of which were diagnostic. Favissa: Past Archaeological Excavation Reports
In January 1959, a salvage excavation was conducted at Deir ‘Asfin (map ref. 1975/6843). The excavation was directed by J. Naveh with the assistance of Sh. Amit (surveying). The remains of walls built of ashlar stones and two floors that were dated to the Early Islamic period were exposed. Based on the information in the excavation file, coins, glass and pottery dating to the Byzantine period were found.

An Arab ruin was exposed, beneath which pottery that was dated to the Persian period and the Iron Age was found. Additional finds consisted of a bronze fibula that was dated to the Iron Age and a bone spindle weight.

In the spring of 1958, an excavation was conducted on the kurkar hill about one kilometer south of the Hadera West railway station (map ref. 1900/7040). The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, began under the direction of F. Berger and was continued under the direction of B. Isserlin. In January 1958, a salvage excavation was conducted on Giv’at Sokolov (Sokolov Hill) in Benei Beraq, during the renewal of the kurkar mining on the hill (map ref. 18413/66638). The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums and financed by the Benei Beraq Municipality, was directed by V. Sussman and J. Naveh. The western wall of a cave was exposed. The cave ceiling had collapsed. A burnt layer that contained pottery was found on the floor of the cave, which was dated to the Chalcolithic period.

In June 1958, an excavation was conducted at Kibbutz Mishmar HaEmek, following the discovery of a burial cave with loculi during the construction of a road between Mishmar HaEmek and Ein HaShoffet (map ref. 2133/7243). The cave was discovered on the southern slopes of Tel Shosh by the children of Mishmar HaEmek, who removed numerous glass vessels, metal artefacts and lamps that were dated to the Byzantine period. In April–May 1956, a trial excavation was conducted in Tel ‘Ali (Map ref. 25270/73390), the second of four excavation seasons (see JIPS 2 [1961]:58–59), in the lands of Alumut farm, south of the area that was excavated the previous year. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by M. Prausnitz. In the current excavation, the third phase was unearthed, which was dated entirely to the Chalcolithic period.

In December 1956, an excavation was conducted near the northern gate of the Tirat Zvi group (map ref. 249875/703250), following the exposure of a burial cave during earth mining. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by N. Zori with the assistance of Y. Reifen of Tirat Zvi group (surveying). The cave was badly damaged during the mining and the excavators encountered difficulty revealing the finds in situ due to the rainy weather.

In 1956–1957, an excavation was conducted at the Ashqelon marina (map ref. 15855/62089). The excavation, carried out by the Ashqelon Museum on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by J. Hevesi. The excavated site is located on a hill c. 200 m from the beach and overlooks it, about 20 m west of the Roman Tomb. The remains of a complex of structures, comprising four construction phases, were exposed.
