In January 1964, a salvage excavation was conducted in the Manahat (Malha) neighborhood of Jerusalem (map ref. 21807/62925), following the discovery of a burial cave near the road leading to the Holyland Hotel by students of Ort school. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by O. Negbi.

During April 1964, a trial excavation was conducted at Tel Massad in Kefar Rupin, under the direction of Z. Yeivin, following construction work on the tell (map ref. unknown). Walls that belonged to a large building were exposed, some of which were destroyed by the bulldozer. Seven spots were examined, four in the trench and three more on the surrounding mound. Fragments of pottery vessels that were dated to the Byzantine and Early Islamic periods were found inside the building. In 1964, an excavation was conducted in Qiryat Tiv‘on (map ref. 2105/7353), following the discovery of a building during the laying of foundations for the Institute of Music at Oranim College. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by R. Givon. The building was identified as a granary. The building had a pear-like shape. No diagnostic finds were recovered.

In November–December 1964, a salvage excavation was conducted in Givat Yesha’ayahu, following the discovery of two burial caves during the digging of a basement on a private plot (map ref. unknown). The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by O. Negbi. Each of the caves included a vertical shaft and two chambers. In the first cave, a number of skeletons were found in a state of disintegration, as well as dozens of complete pottery vessels, a stone mortar, cosmetics vessels made of faience and a scarab. In January 1964, a salvage excavation was conducted in Kibbutz Hazore’a (map ref. unknown), following the discovery of a new tomb east of the tombs previously discovered during levelling the ground in the area of the kibbutz poultry farms. The tombs were dated to the transition period between the Early Bronze and Middle Bronze Age. This excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by V. Sussman.

In 1964, an excavation was conducted in the area of the monument known as ‛Maqam Neby Yahyah’, about two kilometers east of Moshav Mazor (map ref. unknown). The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by J. Kaplan. Hewn cisterns, partly covered with stone slabs, were found. Shafts were also found, which were connected to the cisterns by rock-hewn tunnels. Similar cisterns were found north of the site. In May and June 1962, an excavation was conducted in Kafr ‘Ana (map ref. unknown), under the direction of J. Kaplan. Six probes were opened. In one probe the remains of buildings were exposed, which included a wall (0.75-0.80 × 5.00 m, height 1.4 m), the floor of a room and pottery, that the excavator dated to the Late Islamic period.
