Modern fiction narrative does not simply rely on the plot for centralized meaning condensation, and the narrators or protagonists in the modern fiction may often be seen to reflect, reinterpret or re-aestheticize the meaning of preconfigured theme or thematic fragments in the text. This may undermine the existent boundaries of meaning field and present a multiple perspective and a dynamic thematic wandering in the process of meaning deterritorialization. Rancière scrutinizes the obsession with "unrepresentable" from postmodernist sublime aesthetics, and after a critical reflection on the ethical turn of aesthetics, he proposes to break into the indistinct isolated space of ethics by way of dissensus. This approach plays down on the redemption appeal and reinforces the promise of emancipation, and it reverts the critical perspective of ethics to the active aesthetics of practicum.

The 18th century is a crucial era for the rise of the novel in English and the formation of modern conceptions of narrative immersion. Engaging existing scholarship on early modern and modern theories of reading, this paper primarily discusses two issues. First, it traces the discourses of narrative immersion and narrative impact in 18th-century England, bringing together moral philosophy, aesthetic theories, brain science, literary criticism, and scenes of reading from notable 18th-century novels. The existent scholarship shows that the compositional structure of the four couplets in a regulated poem as "Introduction, Development, Contrast, and Conclusion" was first proposed by Yang Zai and Fan Peng in the Yuan Dynasty. Yang Zai summarized various comments and arguments on metric prosody in the Tang and Song dynasties, modified by his own views, while Fan Peng argued that the structuring might apply not only to regulated verse but to all the literary creation. The communication between Wang Tao (1828-1897) and protestant missionaries in the Late Qing Dynasty focused on the Western religion and learning. When discussing Western learning, Wang Tao also used the term "literature," a term that would have great influence on the developmental history of pre-modern Chinese literary thoughts. While he had a systematic exploration into the development of Western learning and the Jesuits' works in the Late Ming, Wang Tao didn't elaborate on the concept of the term "wenxue (literature)," although he had mentioned Western poetry and other genres as well as some important Greek, Roman and British poets. This paper delineates Yan Lianke's literary status in line with David Damrosch's tripartite definition of world literature, and then reexamines the bipolar assessments of modern Chinese literature in Western Sinology in terms of international cultural politics as represented by the Nobel Prize in Literature. With reference to two key words in Mo Yan's Nobel acceptance speech — "human" and "transcendence" — the paper further explores the contemporary transformation of realism and Yan Lianke's "spiritual realism" in theory and practice.

In the ever-evolving landscape of China's education system, the gap between the rural and urban was always an important issue, not only the multifaceted interplay of parental involvement, student self-engagement, and academic performance. This study utilized a comprehensive national survey dataset through a thorough understanding of cultural nuances and educational intricacies specific to the Chinese context. Its aim was not only to decipher the underlying constructs of parental involvement and student self-engagement but also to investigate how these factors impacted academic achievement among students. 唐文治先生（１８６５—１９５４），是近代中國的經學大師與教育家，提出“讀經救國”，身體力行，信守不渝，其編纂的《十三經大義》，是經典教育的典範。自從退任上海交通大學校長，主持無錫國專之後，親自講授《論語大義》，三易其稿而成定本。其中發揮“救民命、正人心”的兩大主題，以義理貫通全書，反本開新，意義無比重大，爲向來注家所未有。對於深入研究與理解《論語》與孔門義理，實在能够起極爲重要的推動作用。遺憾的是，這部極爲重要的２０ 世紀《論語》學著作，連同唐先生其他著作，俱面臨同樣的冷遇，至今綿綿若存，行將湮滅！令人痛心。繼絶起廢，乃學術的神聖責任。本文介紹及探討的《論語大義》，屬於唐先生具備真實見地與承先啓後的重要成果，却長期未得應有的重視，這一現象透露了當代經學盲點之巨大。因此儘量徵引文本，期望有裨於唐先生著述的流傳與經學的開拓。

本文旨在探討皮錫瑞之《詩》學主張。文章首先指出《詩經》學中主刺的傳統，不必待新的學術時代之來臨纔黯然失色，其實在以《毛詩》學爲主流的《詩經》論述裏，這樣的諷諭傳統，已被排斥在《詩經》學的解釋序列中，反倒是此一諷諭精神，保留在歷代詩歌著作中。其次，指出皮錫瑞依漢代文獻舉證《毛詩》學系統裏對《周南》、《召南》出以后妃教化之解釋，並非《詩》之本義。尤其從對《關雎》一詩性質的認定上進一步指出漢代官方的今文《詩》學立場對詩歌的性質與功能一直有清楚的認識，就是以《三百篇》當諫書。於《關雎》，則有臣子之主文譎諫，而無后妃之德風天下。再次，皮氏指出後世詩人得風人之遺者，雖托言男女，非實言男女。進而批評朱子的《詩》學態度有失偏頗，於《楚辭》之托男女，近於褻狎而不莊者，未嘗以男女淫邪解之，獨於《風》詩之托男女近於褻狎而不莊者，必盡以男女淫邪解之。最後，指出皮錫瑞認爲《詩》之主刺，並非怨刺之意，而是以温柔敦厚抒其情，委婉曲折以達之，所謂“托物爲諭，隱約其辭”，“不言理而言情，不務勝人而務感人”者。

《儀禮》十七篇，包括十四種禮典，即士冠禮、士昏禮、士相見禮、鄉飲酒禮、鄉射禮、燕禮、大射儀、聘禮、公食大夫禮、覲禮各一篇、喪禮三篇（士喪、既夕、喪服）、士虞禮一篇、士祭祖禮一篇（特牲饋食禮）、大夫祭祖禮二篇（少牢饋食禮、有司徹）。以上各禮典之遂行，均有其主要禮意欲表達，譬如“祭主敬，喪主哀”之類。此外，各禮典之諸多儀節在具體執行時亦有共通之基本禮意，筆者以爲可以歸納爲恭敬、肅靜、潔淨三項。通過此三項基本禮意之支撑，各禮典之主要禮意方能顯現。

高郵王念孫 (1744-1832) 、王引之 (1766-1834) 父子，爲清代樸學巨擘，學養深邃，其於典籍訓釋，論述嚴密，舉證精確，故結論往往一言九鼎，阮元 (1764-1849) 稱其“一字之證，博及萬卷”②，誠非謬讚。王氏之學，對後世影響十分深遠，然智者千慮，容或有失，今就《經義述聞·爾雅》“業，叙也”及“揚，續也”兩則，檢其可議之處，略陳己見，以供斟酌。

本研究從清乾嘉間幾場重要的學術辯論，觀察傳統學術的知識分化現象。主要説明兩點：一、清代的學術界已經出現各種專業知識獨立的聲音和努力，辭章、義理、考據之爭，表面是爭正統，實質是爭取獨立的知識地位。二、清代學術並非前人所言的考證學，而是因考證而産生了豐富的工具性知識，這些工具性知識在清儒的深入研究發展下，其後都成了專門之學。在觀察近代中國知識轉型的大歷史議題下，重新審視清代學術，尤其在知識發展上的貢獻，將揭開清代學術思想史之研究的新一頁。

經典的傳承，使文化延續而豐厚。承傳的工作，中國歷代從無間斷。《尚書·堯典》之成篇與《史記》的寫成，中間相隔約３００ 年。司馬遷迻録《堯典》，在文字上作出明顯的變换以適應其時的語言特質。這些轉换，説明典籍的傳承，所保留的未必是典籍的原本面貌，所有現存的典籍，最少在語言上都作出了很大程度的轉换。現代的西方漢學家，在《尚書》成篇之後二千多年，亦試圖藉文字的翻譯，將中國的古代文化傳播至西方。瑞典學者高本漢所寫的《書經注釋》，其中頗有誤解之處，説明東西文化差異的鴻溝，極難跨越。由此可見，經典的傳承工作，非常艱鉅，必須多方的不懈努力，纔不致失傳。

東漢永平十五年（７２），明帝親臨曲阜祭孔，配以孔子七十二弟子從祀，開始了中國的文廟從祀制度，而鄰近的朝鮮半島自高麗王朝顯宗十一年（１０２０）奉入新羅儒生崔致遠從祀文廟，自此建立了中、韓賢儒並列從祀文廟的傳統。直至朝鮮高宗二十年（１８８３），從祀文廟的朝鮮賢儒共十八人，統稱“東國十八賢”。繼往開來，朝鮮王朝在遵照高麗王朝奉行中國文廟從祀制度的同時，就朝鮮先儒從祀文廟的標準，朝野上下俱經歷了長時間的議論，始由“文化傳播者功績”的考量，轉向以“東國傳道系譜”的確立，認同朝鮮賢儒的傳道者身份，作爲他們入廟從祀的準則。這個轉變反映了朝鮮儒者從自身文化的主體性視角，漸次意識到他們也是文廟從祀的參與者，至在承襲和模仿中國道學的過程中，逐漸形成“東國道學”的意識，拓展出韓國本土儒學的根本意義，宣祖朝《國朝儒先録》的問世正是這種意識具體展現的實踐結果。

筆者由20 世紀70 年代開始，即於香港大學講授《春秋》、《左傳》。1998 年6 月，筆者應中研院中國文哲研究所之邀，以“香港大學《左傳》學研究述要”爲題，作一演講，講稿其後刊於《中國文哲研究通訊》①。本文爲其續篇，内容包括（一）論章炳麟《春秋左傳讀》時或求諸過深、（二）《春秋左傳讀叙録》之評價問題、（三）錢鍾書《管錐編》杜預《春秋序》札記管窺、（四）杜預《春秋經傳集解序》“五情”説補識、（五）論《春秋》“五情”———兼論“五情”與詩學之關係。

韓國《尚書》學文獻是《書》學東傳的重要歷史資料，寫作時間大約從公元１４ 世紀到１９ 世紀，文本形態多爲寫本和抄本，由於年代久遠，水漬蟲蛀，或漫漶不清，兼之没有標點，正文注解字體大小無異，殆不可辨。韓國《尚書》學文獻多爲注疏體，大量徵引中國的經史子集。這些徵引部分不僅存在普通古籍的誤、脱、衍、倒、異等問題，而且書寫或抄寫率性，多爲行書，字跡潦草，難以辨别；引文隨意，體例混亂，校勘難度異於尋常。研究韓國《尚書》學文獻紛繁複雜的文本狀態，不僅具有不可或缺的文獻價值，還可爲傳統校勘學增加新的研究内容，並爲傳統文獻整理增加新的方法。

趙岐《孟子題辭》謂孟子“通‘五經’，尤長於《詩》、《書》”。今觀《孟子》徵引《詩》、《書》者甚衆，然未見引《易》之例，學者或置疑孟子未嘗論《易》。查《孟子》一書闡發《易》理之處甚多，特未明言之矣。本文梳理《孟子》學説合乎《易》義者共二十例，所涉内容，包括義利之辨、與民同樂、“時”之觀念、仁者樂天、大勇、勿正勿忘、善與人同、正位與大道、性善説等，涵蓋孟子主要學説。此二十條，直接闡發《周易》正文者，有《豫》卦、《復》卦、《恒》卦、《大過》卦、《小畜》卦、《大畜》卦及《无妄》卦，其餘皆與《易傳》（包括《彖》、《象》、《文言》、《説卦》及《序卦》）之義相通。至於孟子是否闡發《易傳》之義，此中牽涉《易傳》、《孟子》寫作年代孰先孰後問題。本文參考近人李零、金景芳、李學勤之説，認爲《易傳》之成書，當在《孟子》之前，而《孟子》一書闡發《易傳》之可能性爲大。退一步而言，《易傳》縱或有後人因《孟子》學説而補入之言論，然二者闡發《周易》之義，亦理無二致。故焦循“孟子深於《易》”論，其説當可確立也。

漢儒自董仲舒起，改造戰國以來道家等諸子學説中的“天心”、“天地之心”等觀念，强調宇宙的道德稟性，又以儒家經典配合陰陽五行推算天道，占測天心，言説災異，“六經”遂轉爲政治數術。故《齊詩》與《詩緯》創言“詩者天地之心”，賦予《詩三百》以宇宙意義，又以“四始”、“五際”、“六情”之説，依孟京《易》學之例，以《詩三百》爲律曆，占知《詩》中之“天心”，推測風俗性情。“天心”、“天地之心”漸而流爲兩漢以降政治、學術、宗教之話語，至劉勰《文心雕龍》，以“天地之心”爲“道心”，建構“文心”之觀念，於文學形上學理論貢獻至大。

There has been no agreement in evaluating Hu Shih's revision of the 81st trial in A Journey in the academic circle. This paper takes the perspective of reception aesthetics and hermeneutics to approach the issue and claims the reasonability of Hu's revision. In the reader response in the process of reading, the agency of the reader's subjecthood should be fully acknowledged to be legitimate, while the merits or demerits of the revision may be subjected to individual evaluation. The capacity of cultural bearing of the minority nationalities in China is relatively weak, their ecological environment relatively fragile, and vehicles of cultural heritage relative scarce, which contributes to the two-sided problem comprising of existential and cultural spaces. These spaces are gradually invaded in the process of modernization by the foreigners who, as the cultural Other, have not only contaminated the aboriginal space of existence with their physical presence but also undermined the indigenous cultural tradition through their representation. The term "representation" has been translated into two Chinese phrases "zaixian” and "biaozheng." The former refers to the direct and intuitive visual perception, while the latter focuses on the social factors which deconstruct the knowledge systems, social institutions and meaning systems.
