An Historic Account Of Music Criticism And Music Critics In Utah, Basil Hansen
An Historic Account Of Music Criticism And Music Critics In Utah, Basil Hansen
Theses and Dissertations
My purpose in making a study of music criticism in Utah is to realize a reliable historical account of criticism as expressed by means of journals and the growth of music within the state. This study, it is granted, is not a complete history of music in Utah. It merely treats one phase of a yet unwritten history.
A secondary interest is to defend the assertion that Utah has had music criticism and not to eulogize or deride the music pioneers of the state. It may also impress the need of constructive criticism to insure the stimulus and incentive necessary …

An Historical Study Of The Industries Of Allen County, Kansas., Clifton B. Huff
Electronic Theses & Dissertations
There is no romance more thrilling and fascinating than the story of the early settlement of Kansas. Organized as a territory when the content for the extension of slavery was at fever heat, it became the battle field of contending forces. The South determined that it should held as a slave territory; the North was as equally determined that it should represent freedom. The struggle drew the gaze of the people upon "Bleeding Kansas."
Allen County was one of the first thirty-three counties established by the first territorial legislature. Thus the county was one of the pioneers in the early …

Master's Theses or Doctor of Nursing Practice
Since the earliest time that the human mind has been known to function it has played with two opposite conceptions ---all is fixed – all is changing. These two conceptions, affording the bases for opposing schools in philosophy and politics and supplying direction for the social forces of conservatism and radicalism, have naturally influenced our interpretation and theories of literature.

The Relation Of French Poetry And Painting To The Development Of French Impressionistic Music, Phyllis Elaine Threlfall
The Relation Of French Poetry And Painting To The Development Of French Impressionistic Music, Phyllis Elaine Threlfall
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
As far as the writer could find in her reading no one has ever written a finished study of this phase of Music, Art, and Literature. Of course, there are hints of it here and there in many books, but in no one in particular was a detailed study given. Paul Landormy’s book, A History of Music, seemed to carry the heart of the subject, however, in an extremely miniature style.
When we think of French music, our minds are generally centered in Paris, for it is here that the greatest organizations have been sponsored, and the important musical ideas …
