This work could be called a performance piece and video installation, which for me, means that it is not a Play. There is no plot, no character development, and no dialogue in the traditional theatrical sense. I am attempting to tell a narrative through visual poetry, gestures, and sounds. I am by no means working to dictate meanings to the audience. Instead, I hope the audience will draw their own connections and meanings The audience is a translator of events just like the artist. This thesis was a study and analysis of a community’s reaction to an incident of law enforcement’s use of pepper spray on environmentalists carrying out a protest demonstration. The study is based primarily on an analysis of the content of the printed letters to the editors of the local print media.

Breast cancer accounts for 30% of all new cancer cases in women, is the leading cancer site among American women, and is the leading cause of death for women ages 35- 54. According to the 1996 Annual Report published by the Cancer Program of the Saint Joseph Health System of Humboldt County, breast cancer was the top site of cancer for all patients diagnosed and/or treated in their hospitals. Social support and its effect on cancer patients’ adjustment to diagnosis, treatment, and long-term survival has been studied extensively and such support has been found to be associated with positive outcomes. …

James' title coupled with the generous number of color illustrations in her text led me to assume that she would survey Byzantine art in more traditional terms of light and color. Instead, the book pursues the perceptual repercussions of color in Byzantine art and is based on James' dissertation, "Colour Perception in Byzantium" (University of London, 1989).

The most notorious twentieth-century Mexican artist and politician, Diego Rivera, stepped up to the international pedestal of art in the late 1920s. Recognized for his revival of mural painting and undeniable compositional skill, the middle-aged Rivera was crowned a Michelangelo of modern art by artists, intellectuals, and admirers of the time. When Rivera traveled to the United States to show off his peacock's tail, the American media also participated readily in the servile flattery of the Mexican master.
