The Impact Of External Stakeholders' Collaboration On International Student Enrollment In The College Of Career And Technical Education In A City In The North-Central United States: A Case Study, Jacques Kubranz Buhendwa
The Impact Of External Stakeholders' Collaboration On International Student Enrollment In The College Of Career And Technical Education In A City In The North-Central United States: A Case Study, Jacques Kubranz Buhendwa
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This intrinsic case study aimed to understand how the external stakeholders' (ESs) collaboration impacts international students’ enrollment in the College of Career and Technical Education (CCTE) in the North Central United States. The stakeholder theory guided this qualitative case study, based on the philosophical assumption expressed in the ontological assumption taken from the social constructivism paradigm (Vygotsky, 1916). The central research question was: How do the collaboration of the external stakeholders of the college of career and technical education, the alums (international students), and their local community leaders impact new students’ enrollment? The objective was to understand this phenomenon and …
A Phenomenological Study Of The High-Tech, High-Touch Pastor: Maximizing Personal Ministry In A Digital Age, Shirley Groce
A Phenomenological Study Of The High-Tech, High-Touch Pastor: Maximizing Personal Ministry In A Digital Age, Shirley Groce
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This qualitative phenomenological study aimed to explore how high-tech, high-touch senior pastors who practice servant leadership establish and maintain personal contact with their church members and lead them using digital technology. This research was particularly relevant in an era of social distancing required by the COVID-19 pandemic. The theoretical framework for this study was Greenleaf's servant leadership theory. Ten experienced pastors were interviewed to determine how they balanced the impersonal nature of streaming worship services while maintaining personal contact with their congregations. These interviews were transcribed, and important themes were identified to determine best practices for using technology while maintaining …
Gridiron Reconstruction: The Struggle For The Soul Of The Post-Civil War South As Embodied In The Uga Vs Georgia Tech Rivalry, Wendi Jo Pollard
Gridiron Reconstruction: The Struggle For The Soul Of The Post-Civil War South As Embodied In The Uga Vs Georgia Tech Rivalry, Wendi Jo Pollard
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The conflict between the Old South and New South has been examined through multiple historical lenses: political, social, racial, and economic. While it has also been analyzed in cultural terms, a study of how a classic southern rivalry between the University of Georgia and the Georgia Institute of Technology reflects the strife which the South faced in its quest for a new identity - one that was acceptable to the world and a signal that the region was wanting to move on from its past. The University of Georgia/Georgia Tech rivalry embodied the struggle that the South was facing. The …
Songs Of Sorrow, Hope, And Praise: Toward A Historical Analysis Of Negro Spirituals, Hope Victoria Dornfeld
Songs Of Sorrow, Hope, And Praise: Toward A Historical Analysis Of Negro Spirituals, Hope Victoria Dornfeld
Masters Theses
Traditional Negro spirituals play a key role in America’s music history. Spirituals were initially perpetuated by enslaved Africans in the American South through the oral tradition but today are available in a wide variety of choral, vocal, and instrumental arrangements. The lecture recital that accompanies this document will present seven traditional spirituals of varying themes: “Hold On,” “Witness,” “Deep River,” “Sweet Little Jesus Boy,” “Balm in Gilead,” “Steal Away,” and “Ride On, King Jesus.” Spirituals can be described by three closely interrelated textual categories or descriptors which correspond with their original use and historical context. Songs of sorrow are those …
Research In Onondaga Music: Challenges And Opportunities, Kristi Eve Adams
Research In Onondaga Music: Challenges And Opportunities, Kristi Eve Adams
Masters Theses
The main topic of focus is the resistance by indigenous people to communicate their cultural practices to researchers and those who are not part of their immediate community, especially in a post-COVID-19 world. The topic will be explored through the music and ceremonies of the Haudenosaunee people, also known as the Iroquois, consisting of members of Native American heritage that are still in existence today and recognized by the United States federal government as an official tribe. Onondaga Nation is one of the few remaining self-governing sovereign Native American nations in the United States. The music of the Onondaga people …
The Writing Of The War Within: A Study, Analysis, And Creation Of Narrative Reality, Katelynn Wood
The Writing Of The War Within: A Study, Analysis, And Creation Of Narrative Reality, Katelynn Wood
Masters Theses
In an in depth analysis of my own work, I study the use of narrative reality and focus on the use of narrative style and strategy in the works of Renée Ahdieh, Khaled Hosseini, and Tim O’Brien to transport the reader from the reality in which they are reading a novel to the reality that exists within the novel itself. I apply the same lens to my own work and specifically hone in on the use of epistolary form to communicate the inner feelings and mindsets of the characters. Through the analysis of the use of this form by Jane …
A Study Of The English Language And Its Effects On Vocal Technique, Christie Massey
A Study Of The English Language And Its Effects On Vocal Technique, Christie Massey
Masters Theses
There is a widely accepted view by voice teachers at all levels that the English language poses significant challenges for the classical singer in both diction and technique. For the native speaker, this notion may be puzzling and frustrating. This study aims to research and provide pedagogical strategies to assist the teacher and aid the student in singing English successfully and with effective classical technique. The primary research question is: What are the main challenges of singing English diction with classical technique? Other sub-questions include 1) How do period and style affect how the language is sung? 2) To what …
Economics Over All: How Neoliberalism Affects Our Paradigms Of Identity And Relationships In The 21st Century, Richard R. Murphy
Economics Over All: How Neoliberalism Affects Our Paradigms Of Identity And Relationships In The 21st Century, Richard R. Murphy
2023 Symposium
Not much is more heavily debated in the realm of social sciences than the phenomenon of Neoliberalism. Philosophers and academics alike, from the lectures by Michel Foucault in the latter half of the 20th century, to the publications of David Harvey and Wendy Brown today, the only constant is that Neoliberalism is a complex and nuanced system of internal governmentality. These fundamental changes to our paradigms trigger an evolved adaptively plastic mechanism that regulates our inclusive and exclusive moralities. By analyzing the mechanic structure of Neoliberalism and how it changes our paradigms of identity and relations, we may begin to …

Ethnic Studies Research Paper Award
Our podcast attempts to convey indigenous healing efforts since the time of BIA schools in the United States. With the ICWA ruled unconstitutional, we ask what have the lived experiences been of native children who were forcibly removed from their families and tribes? And what does this mean for children who might now be taken away from their families again without the protection of the ICWA?
