After the three-year war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia finally signed the Dayton Peace Accords (DPA) in 1995, thereby ending one of Europe’s most violent conflicts. Although the DPA provided a significant opportunity for communities to construct a new state based on the rule of law, freedom, democracy, and human rights, it failed to create a united civic identity and a well-functioning state with strong democratic policies and the ability to protect people’s human rights. This study looks at a Mapuche cooperative (Chol-Chol) in southern Chile. The review focuses on how this woman owned and run enterprise overcomes primarily culturally ingrained indigenous biases, and how these women deal with a dominant Euro-centric culture that refuses to acknowledge them both as a distinct group within Chile and as capable and contributing members of the Chilean economy.

This paper examines alternative dispute resolution mechanisms that stakeholders could address. In countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the political agreements reached in recent years with drums beating have not ceased to show their limits (Autesserre, 2006; Kibisswa, 2015). In addition to the wars that have continued between the different actors, tensions remain persistent between some communities. How can these traditional peace agreements be strengthened and foster lasting peace for the benefit of society as a whole? Tourism sector is significantly important for Uttarakhand’s economy, and homestays play an imperative role in ensuring the success of the tourism industry therefore the government of Uttarakhand had come up with a homestay promotional scheme. To find out how this scheme has changed the level of motivation and challenges of the homestay owners is a pertinent question. Hence this study examines the motivation to start the homestay and the challenges experienced by homestay owners. Advocates for music curricula reform call for programs of study that better address the concerns of professional musicians, engage the musical traditions of local communities, increase global awareness, and advance social justice. While global approaches to music history studies can address these goals, finding ways to broaden the scope of music history courses beyond the Western canon while also fulfilling curricular expectations that require knowledge of the canon is a challenge for many instructors. When considering how to expand courses to meet the goals above, I propose instructors prioritize the needs of the students and communities their institutions serve. In …
