From Farm To Fork: An Assessment Of Collaborative Supply Relationships To Underpin Food Tourism, Ivor O'Donovan, Tony Barry, Tony Quinlan
Dublin Gastronomy Symposium
Internationally, the food sector appears to be thriving and has excellent growth prospects. In a tourism context food is considered as a major element of tourism strategy, it is accepted as a primary motivator in destination choice and related tourist desires for sense of the authentic. In Ireland, food production, distribution, marketing and food tourism are the combined remit of a number of policy bodies. In a competitive economic environment, policy makers advocate the cultivation of food culture through greater supply chain collaboration as a means to improving product quality, customer satisfaction and competitiveness. This paper presents the findings of …

Training And Assessment Of Toothbrushing Skills Among Children With Special Needs, Rachel A. Brown
Training And Assessment Of Toothbrushing Skills Among Children With Special Needs, Rachel A. Brown
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The success of applied behavior analysis (ABA) interventions relies heavily on adherence to measures of social importance. One area identified by caregivers, educators, and researchers as having social importance is the area of daily living skills; particularly in populations of children with special needs. A number of studies employed the use of a task analysis to objectively measure toothbrushing, with various training procedures utilized. Behavioral Skills Training (BST) is an effective procedure used to train a variety of skills. Further, research indicates the addition of an in situ assessment promotes generalization of trained skills. The current study examined the use …
Toward A Working Theory Of Neurorhetorics, Jeffrey L. Honnold
Toward A Working Theory Of Neurorhetorics, Jeffrey L. Honnold
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
This piece makes the claim that rhetoric is first philosophy--before philosophy, epistemology, ontology, or any other field--or that rhetoric is, at the least, on equal footing as these fields because:
empathy--and thusly the impulse for communication--is physiologically hardwired into humans; special distinctions between human and animal are largely artificial constructions, as is evidenced by neurosciences; "hard" science, in the form of neurosciences, is providing entrance points & opportunities for rhetoric to raise its status within the academy; and said neurosciences, in addition to empathy studies, have shown strong evidence supporting linguistic and evolutionary links between humans and other species, thereby …

Review: Issei Buddhism In The Americas, Justin Kh Tse
Review: Issei Buddhism In The Americas, Justin Kh Tse
Research Collection School of Social Sciences
Issei Buddhism in the Americas makes a unique contribution both to Asian and Asian American studies. The authors premise Issei Buddhism in the Americas as a final stage in bukkyo tozen, the eastward-moving transmission of Buddhism from India traditionally thought to have ended in Japan. Their work is thus a contribution to Asian studies, both in terms of how Japan entered a global age and of extending the analysis of a Japanese religious form to the Americas. Following Eiichiro Azuma, the editors and their colleagues demonstrate that Issei Buddhists lived "between two empires," as their experiences of dislocation from Japan …
