John R. Beljan M.D. Interview (4) Conducted On November 11, 1983 About The Boonshoft School Of Medicine At Wright State University, John R. Beljan, James St. Peter
Boonshoft School of Medicine Oral History Project
In the fourth interview, Dr. Beljan discusses in-depth the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) accreditation process and the various visits of the LCME to the Wright State University School of Medicine. The nature of the LCME, its powers, responsibilities, and focus are examined in detail by Dr. Beljan, as are his thoughts on the nature and function of the LCME in connection to the development of the Wright State School of Medicine.

Boonshoft School of Medicine Oral History Project
In this third interview, Dr. Beljan discusses the development of the affiliation agreements between Wright State and the area hospitals. Dr. Beljan also discusses the development of the Joint Coordinating Committees; the positions of Associate Dean for Hospital Affairs, Veteran's Affairs, and Air Force Affairs; the affiliation with the Veterans Administration and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; the role of the Greene and Montgomery County Medical Societies and the sources of funding for the School of Medicine. The interview closes with a discussion of the mergers of the Cox Heart Laboratory for Cancer Research, with the School of Medicine.

Jack Kleinsinger presents Highlights in Jazz. The concert was held at NYU Loeb Student Center, Thursday, November 10th, 1983 at 8:00pm in association with NYU program board. Jack served as producer and master of ceremonies for the series of concerts. Artists for the concert include Zoot Sims, Pepper Adams, Jimmy Heath, Walter Norris, Tony Purrone, George Mraz and Walter Bolden. Special guest: Jerry Dodgion.
