The treatment of nature by the English Romantic poets of the nineteenth century is commonly thought to be confined to the poetry of Wordsworth. Although the bulk of Wordsworth's poetry is concerned with nature, a study of the poetry of the period reveals that the other great Romanticists were also interested in nature. This thesis is written to show how great a factor the treatment of nature is in the poetry of Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

In his "Mounring Becomes Electra", Eugene O'Neill has taken a great and renowed classical theme and has given it a modern interpretation in the light of his interest in Freudian psychology. In this thesis I have tried to show first the chief details in connection with the Orestea theme as it is given to us by Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides. I have then analyzed the characters in the Greek dramas since Eugene O'Neill's primary interest in his character.

The following is an attempt to make an unbiased search in the records of the New Testament to determine, if possible, the order of the steps to be taken by a person seeking pardon for sin. No attempt is being made to substantiate any preconceived theory. The study was prompted by a desire to settle in my own mind, by an unprejudiced search through the records, the question concerning the Law of Pardon to which I had heard many varying answers.

Their descendants and the descendants of the settlers who came north from Mexico clung to the precedent established by their ancestors; they sang old songs, composed new ones, and passed them down to their children by word of mouth transmission.

It’s moral needs may be met by setting up recognized standards of conduct and insisting upon obedience of rightful authority. Social needs require the organization of and participation in group activities.

After some study I found that most of the books upon the subject were founded chiefly upon the ancient classics and not upon proven facts. Bearing this thought in mind I set out to discover just how ancient criminal law did evolve and my discoveries are set out in the following pages.
