In her interview, Linda explained her role in COPS/Metro and shared her optimistic point of view on racial dynamics in San Antonio and COPS/Metro. Lastly, Linda shared memorable experiences from her work with COPS/Metro, including collaborating with Texas State Representatives on immigration legislation and city officials on affordable housing bonds.

Christina talks about a man who died in a house fire because he had no city services (water, electricity, etc.) She mentioned how sewers would back up into people's kitchens during major rain events. Christina talks about how COPS mentored one woman, Julia Sanchez, in particular so that she could present at City Hall. This lady told her story which helped pass a bond to get the flooding and sewers fixed. St. Mary’s student Jadyn Evans has always had a fascination with San Antonio history; however, through her history major, she has been able to work on research projects, one of which centered around San Antonio’s Keyhole Club in the era of segregation and civil rights. Evans, through her research, has been able to present it to others, sparking a larger conversation on the intersection of Black and Hispanic cultures in San Antonio, but also how her cultures were able to form a community in the city of San Antonio. Security, Stability, Or Both? Peru's Complexities In Detaining German Peruvians, Brissa C. Toscano

The history of civil rights during World War II has often overlooked the deportation of residents of German origin from Latin American countries, including Peru, compared to the detailed focus on the domestic internment of Japanese Americans. In this research, I aim to fill this historical gap by examining Peru's collaboration with the United States in the Latin American campaign to deport, detain, and intern "enemy aliens." Contrary to the prevailing notion of solely national security concerns driving this collaboration, I argue that Peru's decision was motivated by broader economic, political, and social imperatives for stability. COPS/Metro

Christina Castro shared some of her experiences with COPS/Metro advocating for resources and addressing substandard living conditions. She discussed her involvement in various social justice initiatives, including advocating for affordable housing, school tax abatements, and accessible neighborhood libraries. She spoke of the importance faith has in driving her activism. Christina also shared some memorable moments of empowerment, delivering community wins for educational partnerships scholarships, after-school programs, and economic development projects.

Little Flower Church And School: A Digital History Of Westside San Antonio's Spirituality And The Dedication Of The Community, Ashton Jeffers

This project utilizes digital and oral history methods to present a collective narrative on the Little Flower Basilica and School. It begins with the origins of the parish on the Westside of San Antonio to the present day, showing how the parish presents its history to the public. Using a StoryMap to create a digital exhibit, this multi-media project includes a comprehensive historical narrative along with primary source documents and photographs of the development of the parish and its school over time.
