Tonal Balance Within The Concert Band: An Objective Approach To Augment Subjective Theories, John L. Evenson Jan 1954

Tonal Balance Within The Concert Band: An Objective Approach To Augment Subjective Theories, John L. Evenson

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

The school band has become one of the foremost means of evaluating the program of music education in the public school. Although a school music program has many assets which cannot possibly be made articulate to the administration, school board, and public through a performing unit such as the concert band, the music educator is under pressure to produce fine results in his performing unit, and should strive to make every appearance of the group as musically perfect as possible. Good tonal balance is essential in obtaining this result.
