Siesta After Finals, Paul Durica
Arts & Literature: A Review Of The Poetry Book Unburied-Unmarked—The Untold Namibian Story Of The Genocide Of 1904–1908: Pieces And Pains Of The Struggle For Justice, Elise Pape
Genocide Studies and Prevention: An International Journal
Between 1904 and 1908, about eighty per cent of the Herero and fifty per cent of the Nama perished in what is today known as the first genocide of the twentieth century that took place in today’s Namibia under German colonial rule. Over decades, the German government has not officially recognized the genocide as such. Jephta U. Nguherimo is one of the descendants of survivors of this genocide and today lives in the United States. In his poetry book unBuried-unMarked–The unTold Namibian story of the Genocide of 1904-1908: Pieces and Pains of the Struggle for Justice that he has self-published …

The Time in Marat/ Sade by P. Weiss
Time is an essential element of the dramatic work. The play is part of the duration, there are events that last a certain time, during intermissions, and behind the scenes at the same time as on stage. Of course, we must recognize that the notion of time in the theater is very complex. It isdifficult to grasp in a single concept. In general, in the theatrical genre, we find two or even three temporalities. The scenic present which represents the dramatic time, the continuous time, of the representation, then the time of …

Time and Textual Functioning at Rachid Mimouni
The temporal dimension is a variable as important as space, and it is far from lacking in interest in the work of Rachid Mimouni. In fact, the issue of time considered as a structuring factor of the event representations which punctuate the story (1) is at the very heart of his romantic enterprise. To show how temporality exercises a locating and regulating function in the Mimounian text, we distinguish four temporal aspects to which the author focuses in his writing universe: romantic time, lived time, historical time and social time.

Khair-eddin Legends between Wandering and Parables of a Mythical Memory
The story that one apprehends through the canvases of the Khair-Eddin in routes, the south, the wandering and the buried place remain the matrix entities of all his reflection and the preferred space of the myths and legends which torment and subjugate the thought of the author. Agoun'chich's itinerary, in Legendeet Vie by Agounchich (1), carries at its extremity this tension towards the Southern wandering which mobilizes the fictional journey as much as the charge and discursive determinations. The story, as a whole, seems underpinned and substantially exalted by the …

The Poetic White or the White of MemoryinHarrouda byTabarBen Jelloun
Harrouda seems to exploit the double status of white, by its incorporation and linear prose and versified poem. However, the essential is elsewhere: it consists in the use of an unusual white, rarely adopted in poetry and even less in prose, which at times enters the space of the text, until finally monopolizing it. How does this white appear? And at what gold- Does the organization of signification respond?
A Call To Create: Poetry As Healing And One Nurse’S Self-Discovery, Kim Cornett Henry, Kim Cornett Henry
A Call To Create: Poetry As Healing And One Nurse’S Self-Discovery, Kim Cornett Henry, Kim Cornett Henry
English Theses
Florence Nightingale’s vision for nursing has changed greatly in the past one hundred and fifty years, with nursing’s identity replaced with an emphasis on science over caring. The fast-paced, technologically sophisticated environments, designed to meet the declining health of an American public, have resulted in nurses who are being pulled away from nurse-to-patient caring acts and the reasons they felt called to become nurses. These changes have had detrimental psychological and emotional effects on nurses and are especially evident in Intensive Care nurses. Expressive writing as poetry, autoethnography, and participation in vibrant writing communities offer nurses experiences for healing, voice, …

Dear Maliha is a short documentary film exploring the complexities of spiritual abuse through Maliha Fairooz. Spiritual abuse is a form of abuse that uses spiritual or religious beliefs to control or manipulate others. In some cases, spiritual abuse can be used to describe a religious leader who abuses their platform. But in Maliha’s story, we explore the concept of parental spiritual abuse. However, we learn more about this through Maliha Fairooz and the creative use of her journal.
For Maliha journaling is a form of therapy she uses to process her feelings and days. She also uses it as …

Theses and Dissertations
This paper consists of a series of scenes in which various narratives with proximity to the truth plays out. within it I aim to articulate the dispersed subjectivity and forensic aspects to my work, as well looking at the perverseness in the desire for proximity to the fantasy, utilizing the self as a vehicle of desire.
