In an interview aired over the Public Broadcasting System in 1980 , aircraft manufacturer John K. Northrop made a stunning charge. Referring to the Air Force's 1949 cancellation of his Flying Wing aircraft, Mr. Northrop alleged that the cancellation was not the result of any valid concerns about the aircraft itself, but rather was a retaliation for his refusal to agree to an improper demand by the Air Force . Specifically, Mr. Northrop charged that then-Secretary of the Air Force Stuart Symington ordered him to merge his firm with Consolidated-Vultee Aircraft Corporation, and that when he refused, an 88 million …

The Cam Henderson papers consist primarily of papers related to his career as a football and basketball coach at Muskingum, Davis and Elkins and Marshall Colleges. A significant part of the collection relates to his wife Roxie Bell Henderson and includes many personal and family items as well as material related to her career as a public school teacher. Included also is material gathered by Dr. Sam Clagg for his biography of Henderson and afterward. The Loving Of The Game: A Study Of Basketry In The Mammoth Cave Area, Denis O. Kiely

The production and marketing of baskets in the Mammoth Cave area of Kentucky from 1880 to the present is observed in light of the cultural, technical, aesthetic, ad traditional aspects involved. The process of making a white oak ribbed basket is documented, as well as the technical and aesthetic variables from which the basket maker renders his product. The changing role of social organization and communication in the production and marketing of a traditional craft objects is also considered.
