It also delves briefly into the nature of creativity and its manifestation as it relates to art and science.

A slide-script presentation was created to be used as a stimulation device for secondary students who may wish to work in media such as painting, jewelry, batik and printmaking.

The purpose of this thesis was to explore some of the possibilities and limitations of casting items in sterling silver using models made of various types of expanded polystyrene. The text includes historical and background information. Uses made of similar material by sculptors and in industry was discussed. The traditional lost-wax process which was adapted for use with the expanded polystyrene models was explained. It was not the intent of this study to show that expanded polystyrene should replace wax as a model making material nor that it is in any way a superior material to work with. On the …

An Exploration In The Use Of Plastics And Ceramics For The Creation Of Combined Media Sculptures: An Abstract Of A Thesis, Peter J. Deneen

This thesis is a result of the creation of sculptures combining the media of clay and polyester resin. The malleable and earthly qualities of clay, juxtaposed with the controlled and polished forms of the cast plastic was my major interest. Light reflecting and refracting through the plastic is complemented by the light-absorbing qualities of fired, unglazed clay.

Montage was a student-published, bi-weekly newspaper written in the early 1970s. The issue of November 17, 1972 included an article about the Miter Boxing Club. There was a contest for changing the name of the students newspaper and a students won for the name change to Expose. There was an article about the recent Figure Sculpture exhibit at the RISD Museum. Also there was another article about the changes to the professional exam for students seeking architectural licenses at some New England colleges, including RISD. Events for RISD students were also listed.
