Dear Johnson:
The longer I brood over the Century Company's behavior toward you the more unthinkably outrageous it appears. I can't yet venture to say how mad it makes me. But you dear friend have nothing to regret. Though yet young you have done a great life work and have all the world with you ready for your own books now you are free in the world of letters.

My brother Will has been away on business for several months. In June, Mrs. Kellogg and Ellen & Dorothy left to join him for a visit with a friend in the Colorado Mountains, and William and three boy friends, with a chauffeur, made the trip in the same machine in which they went to Yosemite. Mrs. Kellogg & Dorothy are now visiting "Winnie the Skylark" in Detroit.
