Occupational Therapy Curricula Patterns For Acquired Brain Injury-Related Vision Disorders For Entry-Level Programs: A Survey, Laura Schmeiser, Alicia Reiser, Caitlyn Foy
The Open Journal of Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists are among the first providers to encounter individuals after an acquired brain injury (ABI). Evidence suggests that most occupational therapists learn about ABI-related vision disorders from continuing education and on-the-job training. A better understanding of entry-level curricula patterns for ABI-related vision disorders is important because of their high prevalence and impact on occupational performance. A descriptive online survey was administered to occupational therapy educators at ACOTE-accredited entry-level programs to explore curricula patterns for ABI-related vision disorders. Of 1,391 occupational therapy educators invited to participate, 71 (5%) began the survey, and 66 met the inclusion criteria. Vision screening methods …

Flipped Classroom For Undergraduate Introductory Biomechanics Class, Chengtu Hsieh
ISBS Proceedings Archive
The purpose of this exploratory study was to examine the effectiveness of flipped classroom teaching approach in an undergraduate introductory biomechanics class. A total of 28 students were recruited for the study. Students were required to watch short videos, study reading assigned, and complete pre-work assignments before each class. During class time, students were mainly engaged with problem-based learning. The biomechanics concept inventory (BCI) version 3 was used to determine learning improvement. The pre-, post-test, and survey were administered during the first and last two weeks of the semester. Students demonstrated significant learning improvement (d = 1.23, P < 0.05) with a 23% normalised learning gain. Most students (64%) indicated that the flipped classroom approach works well for their learning because it provides flexibility that they may review the course lesson anytime on their own.

The Scholarship Without Borders Journal
Despite the upsurge in the number of woman students as well as novice faculty /administrators, there are still too few women leaders to inspire the shifting demographics. The growing number of female undergraduate students in most parts of the world has created the erroneous perception that gender equality in higher education has been attained. While women's contribution to higher education has increased, the attainment of leadership positions is practically unknown from the global perspective. Given that higher education is becoming a more complicated global enterprise, gender equality in leadership is not only an issue of impartiality but also a need …

Digital Forensics (DF) is a multidisciplinary domain that involves computing, law, criminology and other disciplines. At the core of the domain, however, is the Acquisition, Authentication and Analysis (AAA) of digital evidence. In the real world, practitioners typically find data of forensic value in DF artifacts. While this is true, educational programs and resources have not kept up with DF artifacts - which are the cornerstone of real-world investigations. Our work transforms and expands DF education by focusing the community's attention to artifacts. By leveraging our past work on the Artifact Genome Project (AGP), we expanded the platform to house …

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
Generative AI, such as ChatGPT, is a disruptive technology with significant impacts on education. While it has the potential to transform the delivery and accessibility of education, it can also undermine educational effectiveness by facilitating academic honesty and creating technostress for educators. This study aims to (i) evaluate the extent to which Generative AI, such as ChatGPT, brings technostress to teachers and (ii) how Generative AI changes teachers' professional identities and the technostress that results from such changes. We hypothesize that techno-eustress and techno-distress are determined by three types of self-discrepancies concerning professional identity construction: actual-ought, actual-ideal, and ought-ideal discrepancies. …

This article discusses the pressing need to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into education to facilitate customizable, individualized, and on-demand learning pathways. At the same time, while AI has the potential to expand the learner base and improve learning outcomes, the development of NACE Competencies and durable skills – communication, critical thinking, creativity, leadership, adaptability, and emotional intelligence - must be purposefully integrated in curriculum design now more than ever. Recent studies have shown that AI-driven learning pathways can achieve outcomes more quickly, but this comes at the cost of the development of durable skills. Therefore, traditional student-to-student and student-to-teacher interactions …
Trinitarian Theology As A Resource For The Theology Of Education, Anne Bullock
Trinitarian Theology As A Resource For The Theology Of Education, Anne Bullock
Master's Theses (2009 -)
The character of Catholic education has been variously described but is often associated with educating the whole person, a statement that is usually inadequately explored. In the first place, this “holistic” approach is often reduced to character education, which is an insufficient explanation of what makes Catholic schools distinctive. Moreover, the approach relies on a dense theological account of the human person, which can make it difficult to integrate into the daily reality of school life. This thesis critiques some insufficient approaches to Catholic education in light of the Church’s vision for education, beginning with Vatican II and Gravissimis Educationis …

[2023 Honorable Mention] What Does The Absence Of My History Do To My Identity & Pride?: Utilizing Autohistoría-Teoría Methodology To Trace Educational Experience, Jissel Antonio
Ethnic Studies Research Paper Award
Utilizing Gloria Anzaldúa’s Autohistoria-teoría methodology, this humanistic study explores embodied experiences in the education system, guided by the question, What does the absence of my history do to my identity and pride? Theorizing across historical and personal contexts, I weave together personal archival materials, including school test scores, magical thinking, storytelling, and historical legacies of colonialism and American education. Inspired by Anzaldúa’s method of inquiry, I explore the relationship between identity and education by theorizing the reverberations between history and personal/collective experience.

As the construction industry continues to evolve and increasingly embraces digitisation, an early-stage deliverable for Build Digital Project was to conduct a horizon scan of the opportunities available for those within the construction sector. A primary aim, therefore, is to provide a comprehensive inventory of educational and training provisions that exist within Ireland at present.
The resulting searchable inventory focuses on key educational sectors including Universities, Educational Training Boards (ETBS), Colleges of Further Education, Professional bodies and similar organisations.
