How can an organisation such as the Nebraska Congress of Parent and Teachers be evaluated honestly as to its present value and effectiveness? What kind of yardsticks can be used? Although a true evaluation includes an approach to ascertain whether the organisation lives up to high standards and also includes a consideration as to whether it compares favorably with other in‐stitutions, this survey has been conducted mainly through an opinion pell from the members of the organisation and It comprises only the relationships within the organization.

Greensburg High School has been and is highly regarded by the residents of Decatur County as shown by various newspaper reports, personal interviews, and school records. Its scholastic standards, its curriculum, its administrative personnel, and its student body unite in striving to build an institution that will raise the social and economic conditions of the community. Preston County 1g ono of the important counties of the State of West Virginia. It borders on two state a, Pennsylvania and Maryland, and four counties of West Virginia, Tucker, Barbour, Taylor and Monongalia. Preston County was formed from Monongalia in 1818. It has an area of seven hundred square miles, being one of the larger counties of the state. It extends along the full eastern Maryland line, thirty-six miles and along the Mason and Dixon line, twenty-two miles. The purpose of this survey is to make a detailed inventory of the leisure time activities of the children of grades 4 to 8 inclusive, of sixteen school in the industrial area of South Side, Omaha, Nebraska, to ascertain how and where they spend their spare time. It aims also to discover what these children would like to do but do not do, together with the reasons therefore. This method provides an opportunity to study information which reflects the children's own point of view.

It is the attempt then of this thesis to study a) the basic philosophy of American Experimentalism and the techniques for carrying this program into effect; b) the basic philosophy of Catholic education and the methodology used for carrying this approach into effect; c) the present and proposed methodologies of teachers in Lutheran secondary schools; d) and finally, the summary ina final outline, or all techniques suggested by this study which are in agreement with the Lutheran Christian philosophy or education and which propose a fuller integration of the Lutheran Christian principles.
