Phased arrays are essential to airborne ground moving target indication (GMTI), as they measure the spatial angle-of-arrival of the target, clutter, and interference signals. The spatial and Doppler (temporal) frequency is utilized by space-time adaptive processing (STAP) to separate and filter out the interference from the moving target returns. Achieving acceptable airborne GMTI performance often requires fairly large arrays, but the size, weight and power (SWAP) requirements, cost and complexity considerations often result in the use of subarrays. Abstract: Optimal deployment of distant support jamming formation is studied for improving penetration capability of air assault group in air offensive operation. The total detection threats of penetration route are chosen as the performance indicator, and the optimal deployment mode of distant support jamming formation is built. The closed region detection method is used to compute fitness value. The difficult problem of computing detection coverage of radar net under jamming condition is solved by using traditional geometry analytic method. The enteric nervous system (ENS) contains millions of neurons essential for organization of motor behavior of the intestine. It is well established that the large intestine requires ENS activity to drive propulsive motor behaviors. However, the firing pattern of the ENS underlying propagating neurogenic contractions of the large intestine remains unknown. To identify this, we used high-resolution neuronal imaging with electrophysiology from neighboring smooth muscle. Myoelectric activity underlying propagating neurogenic contractions along murine large intestine [also referred to as colonic migrating motor complexes, (CMMCs)] consisted of prolonged bursts of rhythmic depolarizations at a frequency of ∼2 Hz. In 2017, the International Committee of the Red Cross published an updated Commentary on the Second Geneva Convention. One question left unanswered by the new Commentary is the relationship between international humanitarian law and other international treaties applicable to the maritime domain, such as the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and treaties adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The Second Geneva Convention establishes a legal framework for the humane treatment and protection of victims of armed conflict at sea—the wounded, sick and shipwrecked. Why has cybered conflict disrupted the security of the most developed nations? A foreign adversary contemplating an attack on a developed nation's heartland certainly faces multiple state-run military-grade lines of defense on land, sea and air. A foreign adversary launching a direct cyber-attack on a non-military homeland target will meet none. Armed forces do not shield a society from cyber-attacks originated by foreign adversaries, no longer provide a buffer between the enemy and homeland, nor can they identify the attacker after an attack occurred.

The Volga Germans assert a particular ethnic identity to articulate their complex history as a multinational community even in the absence of traditional practices in language, religious piety, and communal lifestyle. Across multiple migrations and settlements from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries, the Volga Germans' self-constructed group identity served historically as a tool with which to navigate uncertain politics of belonging. Despite its significance in postwar Philippine history and its continuing relevance today, scholars have largely neglected militarization, especially as experienced by indigenous peoples. Drawing on fieldwork data from 2009 to 2010, thisarticle outlines a phenomenology of the terror experienced by an indigenous community in Agusan del Sur province at the hands of state paramilitary forces involving their own datu. Neil Whitehead’s “poetics of violence” is applied to the analysis of the community’s understanding of the state and its violence. This article presents an examination of two artworks by the late Cuban- American artist Félix González Torres, focusing primarily on the destructive strategies and theological potential of his work. After describing the activist and counter-monumental dimensions of «Untitled» (Portrait of Ross in L.A.) (1991) and «Untitled» (Lover Boys) (1991), the author examines these two pieces, as well as the artist’s life more generally, through the lens of queer martyrdom and queer theology to postulate a hagiographic take on González Torres’ life and oeuvre. Shakespeare’s Othello is often viewed as an example of seventeenth century Renaissance binaries. Critics make distinctions when reading the play between hero and villain, Moors and Europeans, and between civilization and barbarity. These definitions are all complicated by Iago’s presence in the play. Iago, whose name implies he is actually a Spaniard, frames the play in a geo-political context. Because of Iago’s presence, Othello provides a picture of England’s position in the seventeenth century geo-political climate. Shakespeare is giving his English audience a particular political message.
