This article provides information to support the database article titled "UbSRD: The Ubiquitin Structural Relational Database" (Harrison et al., 2015) [1] . The ubiquitin-like homology fold (UBL) represents a large family that encompasses both post-translational modifications, like ubiquitin (UBQ) and SUMO, and functional domains on many biologically important proteins like Parkin, UHRF1 (ubiquitin-like with PDB and RING finger domains-1), and Usp7 (ubiquitin-specific protease-7) (Zhang et al., 2015; Rothbart et al., 2013; Burroughs et al., 2012; Wauer et al., 2015) [2], [3], [4], [5]. The UBL domain can participate in several unique protein-protein interactions (PPI) since protein adducts can be attached …

Effects Of A Software Program Vs. Constant Time Delay In The Acquisition Of Sight Words For A Student With Significant Disabilities, Turkie Ali Algharbie
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The development of sight words is essential for individuals with significant disability. There is a plethora of research highlighting the acquisition of sight words for this population but to date, most focus on teacher led interventions (Browder, Algrim-Delzell, Spooner, Mims, & Baker, 2009). This study investigated the use of computer technology vs. one-on-one instruction targeting sight words acquisition for a student with a significant disability. Results showed the participant indicated improved performance using the computer based intervention versus the constant time delay instructor led intervention.

On Properties Of RW-Regular Graphs, Franklina Samani
On Properties Of RW-Regular Graphs, Franklina Samani
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
If every vertex in a graph G has the same degree, then the graph is called a regular graph. That is, if deg(v) = r for all vertices in the graph, then it is denoted as an r-regular graph. A graph G is said to be vertex-weighted if all of the vertices are assigned weights. A generalized definition for degree regularity for vertex-weighted graphs can be stated as follows: A vertex-weighted graph is said to be rw-regular if the sum of the weights in the neighborhood of every vertex is rw. If all vertices are assigned …

Gene Networks Involved In Competitive Root Colonization And Nodulation In The Sinorhizobium Meliloti-Medicago Truncatula Symbiosis, Ryan D. Vanyperen
Gene Networks Involved In Competitive Root Colonization And Nodulation In The Sinorhizobium Meliloti-Medicago Truncatula Symbiosis, Ryan D. Vanyperen
Theses and Dissertations
The rhizobia-legume symbiosis is the most agriculturally significant source of naturally fixed nitrogen, accounting for almost 25% of all biologically available nitrogen. Rhizobia-legume compatibility restrictions impose limits on symbiotic nitrogen fixation. In many cases, the molecular basis for symbiotic compatibility is not fully understood. The signals required for establishing a symbiotic partnership between nitrogen-fixing bacteria (e.g. Sinorhizobium meliloti) and leguminous plants (e.g. Medicago truncatula) have been partially characterized at the molecular level. The first stage of successful root colonization is competitive occupation of the rhizosphere (which is poorly understood). Here, the bacteria introduce themselves as potential symbiotic partners …

Social Justice Education With Law Enforcement: Reflections From The Field, Amie Thurber
School of Social Work Faculty Publications and Presentations
The systemic racism embedded in and embodied by law enforcement has resulted in nationwide protests, sparking a call to action that has particular resonance and urgency for social justice educators. While the need for transformed education of police officers is critical, educators may ask: What pedagogic tools are most effective in police departments? How might educators respond to officers’ resistance to learning about inequality? And what obstacles might educators have to overcome in order to do this work? In this case study, I draw from 11 years of experience providing consulting and training to a city police department, sharing key …
Ravin Revisited: Alaska's Historic Common Law Marijuana Rule At The Dawn Of Legalization, Jason Brandeis
Ravin Revisited: Alaska's Historic Common Law Marijuana Rule At The Dawn Of Legalization, Jason Brandeis
Alaska Law Review
For the past forty years, Alaska has had one of the most unique marijuana laws in the United States. Under the Ravin Doctrine, adults in Alaska could use and possess a small amount of marijuana in their homes for any personal purpose. That common law rule, grounded in the Alaska Constitution's explicit right of privacy, was effectively codified in November 2014 when Alaska voters approved Ballot Measure 2: "An act to tax and regulate the production, sale, and use of marijuana." Measure 2 ushered in a new era of marijuana regulation, adding Alaska to the short list of states that …

This Comment proposes that marijuana be removed from …
Breaking Bad Law: Meth Lab Investigations Highlight Alaska's Current Approach To Privacy, Victoria Sheets
Breaking Bad Law: Meth Lab Investigations Highlight Alaska's Current Approach To Privacy, Victoria Sheets
Alaska Law Review
The right to privacy explicitly provided by the Alaska Constitution has long been broadly interpreted—even protecting Alaskan citizens' right to personal home use and possession of marijuana. Though this right to privacy has been interpreted many times over the last few decades, Alaska currently lacks a coherent approach to application of its privacy laws. As the prevalence of methamphetamine production increases in homes across Alaska, the Alaskan courts' approach to privacy must be reevaluated in light of its delicate interaction with search and seizure policies surrounding methamphetamine labs.

Functional Characterization Of Aggregatibacter Actinomycetemcomitans Qsebc : A Bacterial Adrengeric Receptor And Global Regulator Of Virulence., Whitney Weigel
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
In order for a pathogen to successfully colonize the host, it must be able to acquire essential nutrients and regulate gene expression to respond to environmental fluctuations. One mechanism bacteria have evolved in order to detect these fluctuations and respond is the two component signal transduction systems (TCS). Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, a dental commensal associated with localized aggressive periodontitis, contains a TCS designated QseBC that was previously shown to regulate expression of several iron acquisition genes, biofilm formation and virulence, but the activating signal was unknown []. QseBC is a conserved TCS in the Enterobacteriaceae and Pasteurellaceae, but the activating signal …
