The Parambikulum Wildlife Sanctuary in the southern Indian state of Kerala was established in 1962 as a reserve and enlarged in 1973 and 1985 to become a 285 square kilometer sanctuary with significant botanical and wildlife habitat. The setting and diversity of animals, including 268 bird species, 39 species of mammals, 61 species of reptiles, 47 species of fish, 16 species of amphibians and 124 species of butterflies, make Parambikulum a tourist destination. Due to its remote location, it has access only through Anamalai Tiger Reserve, a section of Indira Gandhi National Park in neighboring Tamil Nadu. There are no …

Interpreting the Civil War: Connecting the Civil War to the American Public
Like a prose poem, the passage leaped off of the page of the Lutheran and Missionary as I scanned the newspaper's columns. Sitting in the reading room of the Abdel Ross Wentz Library at the Lutheran Theological Seminary, my heart raced. It's not often that you find new words penned by someone you've been studying for years. [excerpt]

Background: Older adults free of dementia but with subjective memory complaints (SMC) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) are considered at increased risk of cognitive decline. Vascular risk factors (VRF), including hypertension, heart disease, smoking, hypercholesterolemia and lack of physical activity (PA) have been identified as modifiable risk factors contributing to cognitive decline, and white matter hyperintensities (WMH) are associated with VRF, SMC and cognitive impairment. Findings from a growing number of clinical trials with older adults are providing strong evidence for the benefits of physical activity for maintaining cognitive function, but few studies are investigating these benefits in high-risk populations. …

Patterson, Kaitlyn Sage. MFA. The University of Memphis. May, 2012. Twining. Major Professor: John Bensko, Ph.D. Twining is a collection of poetry that focuses on a theme of isolation and the dangers presented by interactions with the natural world as well as the people and animals inhabiting it. The work explores a childhood split between an ashram in India and a middle school in East Tennessee, the universality of seeking comfort in religion, sex, and companionship in a variety of forms. The work primarily employs free-verse structures.

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
The website of a university is a platform to exhibit the courses offered by the institution and also about the research activities carried out by that university. Beyond providing high quality content, a site also needs to organize that content in a way that makes it accessible to visitors. Prioritizing the content is one of the best ways to make sure the visitors are finding the information the site wants them to find, and that they want to find. Thus, the location of web objects in the University websites is a key for the success of that website. Hence, a …

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This is a survey of large public sector university libraries of the Punjab Province and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) of Pakistan. The basic purpose is to get a broader understanding of users’ perceptions about the library services. The survey is based on a questionnaire containing both open and close ended questions. The data were collected through mail, e-mail and personal visits. The study reveals that although respondents have shown their overall satisfaction with the library services, but the analysis of the data about users’ satisfaction with major library services shows that they were not fully satisfied with their respective library …
