Wikipedia In Court: When And How Citing Wikipedia And Other Consensus Websites Is Appropriate, Jason C. Miller, Hannah B. Murray
St. John's Law Review
(Excerpt)
Accordingly, this Article lays out a process for determining when it is and when it is not appropriate to cite Wikipedia and other similar online sources. Part II reviews the history of Wikipedia and controversies caused by citing it. Part III offers a proper citation format and proposes a common sense framework to decide when citing Wikipedia is appropriate. Part IV applies this framework in the context of a variety of actual court cases that cited Wikipedia and shows how the same concepts apply to other consensus-based websites like Urban Dictionary.
Effects Of Overtraining On Reversal And Nonreversal Learning On Concurrent Discriminations In Rats, Esho Nakagawa
Effects Of Overtraining On Reversal And Nonreversal Learning On Concurrent Discriminations In Rats, Esho Nakagawa
The Psychological Record
Two experiments examined the positive extradimensional shift effect of overtraining in concurrent mixed discriminations. In Experiment 1 rats were trained on two concurrent simultaneous discriminations and then either reversed on both tasks (Group W), or reversed on one task while a second novel discrimination was introduced (Group CMS). After initial training, two novel discrimination tasks were presented to a third group of rats (Group EDS). Overtraining facilitated extradimensional shift in Group CMS, whereas it neither facilitated nor retarded shift learning in Group EDS. In Experiment 2 using two concurrent go/no-go discriminations with the same design as in Experiment 1, overtraining …

Taking “Grazing” To The Next Level, Edward N. Ballard
Kentucky Grazing Conference
Since the late 1980’s, producer awareness of pasture management has been increasing. A number of factors have brought this about. Mainly, economic conditions have forced producers to look at their bottom line and this has reflected the low returns from mismanagement of forages and pastures. Also, advancements in the technology of pasture management and improvement have made more intensive utilization of the forage resource more economically viable. Advances in equipment, especially fencing and water equipment, have also helped bring about the increased interest in better grassland management.

Kentucky Grazing Conference
Whether you call it rotational grazing, intensive grazing or management intensive grazing, the economic benefits of controlling how and where your cattle graze are well documented. Increased forage utilization, greater stocking rates, greater legume persistence, reduced hay feeding and more uniform nutrient recycling are just some of the many benefits producers can take advantage of when practicing some form of controlled grazing. However, one of the greatest challenges to implementing a controlled grazing system is the delivery of stock water to the grazing animal.

Kentucky Grazing Conference
An opportunity that Kentucky cattle farmers have in reducing their hay requirements is to apply nitrogen on select pastures to stockpile for fall and winter grazing. By increasing the total pasture production during this time period, the grazing season can be extended and the amount of hay required can be reduced.

Benefits Of "Improved" Grazing--More Important Now Than Ever!, Garry D. Lacefield
Kentucky Grazing Conference
At this Conference twelve years ago I talked about the “Benefits of Improved Grazing”. We have had aspects of that theme at every Kentucky Grazing Conference since and also emphasized that message at 10 Heart of America Grazing Conferences and three National Grazing Conferences. With all that emphasis, why do I bring this up again and even have the nerve to say “More Important Now than Ever”? Well, the short answer is “things are different now!”

Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen Is Required For Loading Of The Smcx/Kmd5c Histone Demethylase Onto Chromatin., Zhihui Liang, Marc Diamond, Johanna A Smith, Matthias Schnell, René Daniel
Department of Medicine Faculty Papers
UNLABELLED: ABSTRACT:
BACKGROUND: Histone methylation is regulated by a large number of histone methyltransferases and demethylases. The recently discovered SMCX/KMD5C demethylase has been shown to remove methyl residues from lysine 4 of histone H3 (H3K4), and constitutes an important component of the regulatory element-1-silencing transcription factor (REST) protein complex. However, little is known about the cellular mechanisms that control SMCX activity and intracellular trafficking.
RESULTS: In this study, we found that small interfering RNA-mediated knockdown of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) resulted in the reduction of the chromatin-bound SMCX fraction. We identified a PCNA-interaction protein motif (PIP box) in the …

The Crosstalk Between Human Fatty Acid Transport Protein 1 And Fatty Acid Transport Protein 4, Zhe Yuan
The Crosstalk Between Human Fatty Acid Transport Protein 1 And Fatty Acid Transport Protein 4, Zhe Yuan
Department of Biochemistry: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
Fatty acid transport proteins (FATPs) provide pivotal roles in fatty acid transport and activation and thus are crucial for overall fatty acid homeostasis. Peroxisome Proliferators Activated Receptors (PPARs) are important transcription factors, which control many genes that govern lipid metabolism.
Using 293 T-REx cell lines that stably express FATP1 or FATP4 from a tetracycline-inducible promoter, this work evaluated gene expression of key genes involved in fatty acid metabolism using QPCR, protein expression of FATP1 and FATP4 using Western blots, and fatty acid transport to address the roles of these two FATP isoforms in fatty acid homeostasis. This work found that …
