"This Man's Heart: Masculinity in the Poetry of E.E. Cummings" explores changing masculinity in the life and poetry of E.E. Cummings. The relationship between Cummings and his father, his first male role model, became strained when Cummings was a teenager finding his own male identity. As he rebelled against his father, a Unitarian minister, he began writing poetry in a modernist style under the direction of a new mentor, Ezra Pound.

Cummings' early modernist poems criticize conventional male roles and configurations of masculinity as outdated. As Cummings continued to grow as a man and writer, he confronted new realities which …

NATO's success in Kosovo ultimately depended upon each member's ability to carefully balance national interest and opposing viewpoints against international pressures from the Alliance. In reconciling these factors, each country created framing strategies designed to garner public support for its involvement in the military operations. Indigenous public support was integral to each country's participation in these efforts and in NATO's ability to maintain a sustained campaign.

The fishing right guaranteed by the fishing clause of the Stevens Treaties between the United States and the Indians of Western Washington should be considered a trinity of rights: a right of access, a right of equitable apportionment, and a habitat right. While seven different Supreme Court decisions and scores of lower court decisions examine the contours of the first two elements of the fishing right, the contours of the final element of the right remain unsettled. The controversy concerning evangelization and conversions in contemporary India may be productively interpreted as a conflict between stories, between what John Haught refers to as "power-bestowing narratives," or between what Gerald Larson calls "comprehensive interpretive frameworks." These Hindu stories and Christian stories are "discordant," not only with each other, but with other stories within their own traditions, thus fostering the mutual mistrust that thoroughly colors the debate. This is preliminary research into the effectiveness of deceptive defensive measures in particular honeypots that use deceit as a primary defensive and offensive mechanism. Initial research has been conducted using the Deception Tool Kit and its ability to fool commonly available network scanning tools such as Nessus and Nmap The preliminary research indicates that these deceptive tools have a place in modern network defence architecture.

The paper examines the information contained in the logfiles and the implications of detected activities by would be attackers. With the increase in the use of Personal Computer (PC) firewall, this study looks at the security features provided by eight PC firewall; they are BlackICE, Deerfield, Kirio, MacAfee, Outpost, Sygate, Tiny and Zonealarm. The Nessus network scanner was used to probe these systems in a variety of configurations. The paper discusses the results and their implications for users of this new range of software.

This thesis characterizes the problem of relative camera calibration in the context of three-dimensional volumetric reconstruction. The general effects of camera calibration errors on different parameters of the projection matrix are well understood. In addition, calibration error and Euclidean world errors for a single camera can be related via the inverse perspective projection. However, there has been little analysis of camera calibration for a large number of views and how those errors directly influence the accuracy of recovered three-dimensional models. A specific analysis of how camera calibration error is propagated to reconstruction errors using traditional voxel coloring algorithms is discussed. …

Surabaya is Indonesia’s second largest city but is not well known to the outside world. Yet in 1900, Surabaya was a bigger city than Jakarta and one of the main commercial centers of Asia. Collapse of sugar exports during the 1930s depression, followed by the Japanese occupation, revolution, and independence, brought on a long period of stagnation and retreat from the international economy. Not until the export boom of the 1990s did Surabaya regain prominence as Southeast Asia’s leading non–capital–city industrial area. Modulation classification of digital communications signals plays an important role in both military and civilian sectors. It has the potential of replacing several receivers with one universal receiver. An automatic modulation classifier can be defined as a system that automatically identifies the modulation type of the received signal given that the signal exists and its parameters lie in a known range. This thesis addresses the need for a universal modulation classifier capable of classifying a comprehensive list of digital modulation schemes.
