The primary aim of this thesis is to establish, as far As that can be done, the basis for the canonicity of the Epistle of James. That problem really involves two questions. In the first place, does the Epistle come from Apostolic times? If it does not, then the problem is immediately settled, and the Epistle does not belong in our Bible. On the other hand, if it does come from Apostolic times, who is meant by the simple superscription “James, a servant of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ”?

Karst Kamp, a southwestern Montana recreation re­sort, is 32 road miles south of Bozeman on the east bank of the Gallatin River in a narrow V-shaped valley flanked on the west by the rugged Madison mountain range and on the east by the equally rough Gallatin range. The asbestos deposit itself lies approximate­ly one-half mile northwest of the ranch on a heavily timbered "Al­pine-like" slope nearly 1200 feet above the floor of the valley.

The Salt Chuck, Rush and Brown, and adjacent mines and claims form an area of approximately 15 square miles near the head of Kasaan Bay about 10 miles northwest of the village of Kasaan on Prince of Wales Island in southeastern Alaska. It is an area of moderate relief in which the hills rise from the water’s edge to heights of some 500 feet. Most of the area is covered with dense vegetation and muskeg.

Since 1932 numerous and widely distributed papers on Trichomonas foetus and bovine trichomoniasis have appeared in the various scientific journals which demonstrate the importance of the disease and organism throughout the world. Prior to this period, most scientists and practitioners of veterinary medicine were of the opinion that practically all reproductive difficulties of an infectious nature occuring in cattle were caused by Brucella abortus. It is now established that Trichomonas foetus is an important organism in causing abortions and infertility in cattle.

Low hatchability of eggs in some breeds of turkeys has long been a serious problem among turkey raisers over the entire United States. The average hatchability is approximately 65 per cent in all breeds; however, in the broad-breasted bronze variety the hatchability is only 47 per cent (1). In the Intermountain areas those hatches are appreciably lower (2). The broad-breasted bronze turkey is one of the larger breeds and is one of the best-selling varieties. The United States, although the leading consumer of chromite, depends almost entirely on imports for its supply. Domestic production of chromite is limited, because high-grade imported ore is plentiful and inexpensive in normal times. The term diffusion means an equalization or homogenization of diverse materials. Specifically ap­plied to metals, diffusion is the interchange of atoms. It is, in effect, an invasion of one crystal lattice by the atoms of one or more other crystal lattices.
