This study investigates refusal strategies on Facebook among primary school children. Based on a Discourse Completion Test (DCT) which has twelve situations, thirty school-going children aged between 11 and 12 years old were asked to construct refusals for the various situations given. For this study, a group of 30 students were asked to respond to the situations where refusals to requests, refusals to suggestions, refusals to invitations and refusals to offers were made. Kajian ini memberi fokus kepada analisis perbandingan terjemahan antara dua buah kitab terjemahan al-Quran iaitu Tafsir Pimpinan Rahman ( TPR ) yang ditulis secara individu oleh Sheikh Abd Rahman Basmeih dan Yayasan Kumpulan Penterjemah Indonesia ( YKPI ). Surah al-Qiyamah yang mengandungi 40 ayat, 199 perkataan dan 652 huruf dijadikan sebagai bahan analisis kerana ayatnya pendek dan ringkas justeru itu perbandingan yang dibuat lebih jelas menjadi asas kepada pemilihannya. Penemuan awal menunjukkan partikel 了-le yang mempunyai struktur tatabahasa rumit sering mengelirukan pelajar-pelajar Melayu dalam pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin sebagai bahasa kedua. Oleh kerana itu, kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan memahami keadaan penggunaan partikel 了-le dengan berfokus kepada 40 orang pelajar Melayu yang telah tamat mempelajari kursus bahasa Mandarin di Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk mengenalpasti aras kognitif soalan guru dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran Bahasa Melayu dalam kalangan guru sekolah rendah. The systems of tense, as in the ways of correlating time in connection with the occurrence of events/states is different in the English and Malay language. The framework of the study comprised Swales (1990), Bhatia (1993) and Hajibah Osman (2005). This study uses conversation analysis to investigate questions and question-response sequences in a semi-casual conversation like prank calls. The conversation in the Gotcha prank calls are built upon question-response sequences. The study aims to find out what types of questions are constructed in Gotcha calls and to what extent would the negotiation of questions and responses show power in Gotcha calls. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi-strategi yang digunakan dalam terjemahan kata nama khas teks kesusasteraan klasik China ke bahasa Melayu. Kajian ini dijalankan secara kualitatif deskriptif. Pendekatan analisis kontrastif digunakan untuk meninjau sama ada strategi penterjemahan mempunyai implikasi terhadap kebolehsampaian makna kata nama khas. Skim pampasan mangsa kecederaan jenayah merupakan suatu kaedah yang dilaksanakan di negara-negara barat untuk membela dan melindungi mangsa kecederaan jenayah. Statistik kes-kes kecederaan dan kematian akibat perbuatan jenayah di Malaysia telah menunjukkan peningkatan daripada 7,355 kes pada tahun 1999 kepada 11,096 kes pada tahun 2009. Undang-undang sedia ada pula lebih menfokuskan aspek hukuman kepada pelaku jenayah sedangkan mangsa kecederaan jenayah dibiarkan sendirian menanggung beban kewangan, penderitaan fizikal dan mental.
