The subject of investigation for this study involves a segment of human relations. An understanding of the entire field of human relations is essential for justification of the finding which relate to the particular segment. The area of human relations of concern in this study involves a theory often called “participative decision making.” It is the theory which is dependent upon other closely related areas. Motivation, satisfaction and other factors which are prevalent in personal fulfillment are important things to consider in relation to the theory. Man’s primary concerns have always been the struggle for survival and improvement of his lot. As his numbers increased, he attained greater ability to manipulate his environment. One method of manipulation has been through the use of insecticides. One of the largest uses of insecticides has been in connection with pest control on agricultural lands. Pest control has become of great economical significance within the past decades. Since South Dakota is primarily as agricultural state it has been caught up in this bioeconomical problem. One control method used has been the use of chlorinated hydrocarbon insecticides. (see more in text)

The relationship between the domesticated sheep, Ovis aries, and the pronghorn antelope, Antilocapra americana americana, is close enough to validate a comparative gastrointestinal tract analysis (Table 1). This analysis is intended to compare and describe the various parts of the gastrointestinal tract of each species in the order of their occurrence from the esophagus through the rectum. . . . As a result of the Federal Water Quality Act of 1965 all states of the union were required to develop water quality standards for the interstate waters within their boundaries and after holding public hearings, adopt such standards prior to June 30, 1967 (1- 1) . The wheat stem maggot, Meromyza americana Fitch, is distributed throughout most of the wheat growing areas of North America. Significant crop losses from this insect have been reported in wheat, rye, barley, and other grasses. Several investigators have studied the wheat stem maggot's life history and listed its parasites, but no attempts have been made to evaluate the importance of the various parasites. The objective of this study was to investigate some of the factors that might influence the rate of parasitism and to learn the importance of individual parasite species. The Effects Of Moldy Alfalfa Hay Feeding On Rumen Activity, Rumen Protozoa And Dairy Steer Performance, And Analysis Of Toxic Substance(S) Associated With Molding, Guru Prasad Mohanty

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of feeding moldy alfalfa hay to dairy steers on their growth rate , rumen fermentative activities, rumen protozoa counts and rumen volatile fatty acid production. Good quality and molded alfalfa hays prepared from the same fields were chemically analyzed. Molded hay was lower in dry matter, ether extract, nitrogen-free-extract and higher in crude fiber, ash and pH values than good alfalfa hay. A higher percentage of total protein of moldy hay appeared as ammoniacal nitrogen. Two dairy steer-feeding experiments were conducted. The first experiment involving two groups of five steers …
