A system is disclosed for inferring physical or semantic location using co-presence of multiple mobile devices. The system gets the location reports from several nearby mobile devices and sends back an accurate location for all these devices. The location reports from each device’s sensors (such as Wi-Fi, cell tower, Bluetooth or GPS) that are close together are used to determine the semantic location for these devices. Each type of sensor is provided a reliability weightage when combining data from the multiple devices. A mechanism for detecting pornographic content in a video based on an analysis of characteristic motions in the video. The motion-based mechanism is to appearance-based and audio-based approaches, and therefore can be employed in combination with such approaches, or by itself. In one implementation, the mechanism employs a first phase of unsupervised learning, and a second phase of supervised learning. Viewable View Through Conversion (vVTC) are introduced in this publication. vVTC is a way to attribute view-through conversion events back to the impressions that deserve credit for them. vVTC may measure viewability for each impression and attribute conversions to impressions based in part on the measured viewability of each impression. A system and method are disclosed to predict location of a thunderhead using crowd sourced mobile technology. The system comprises multiple smartphones enabled to detect relative wind speed, direction and pressure gradients. The crowd-sourced wind movements determine thermal rise locations that are fed into weather models. The system software uses this information to provide targeted emergency weather alerts with pinpoint precision. A server rack may require DC voltages at various levels such as 12 volts, 1.8 volts, 1.2 volts, etc. that are suitable for different computing devices. In operation, a supply voltage is converted to the voltage required by corresponding computing devices. The voltage-level conversion is done in stages. A first stage converts from the supply voltage, e.g., 48 volts, to an intermediate voltage, e.g., in the range 7 to 15 volts. This disclosure describes techniques for packet loss detection in networks based on Recent ACKnowledgement (RACK). RACK technique uses the notion of time, instead of conventional approaches for packet loss detection such as packet or sequence counting. Packets are deemed lost if a packet that was sent sufficiently later has been cumulatively or selectively acknowledged. In example implementations, a sender that implements RACK technique records packet transmission times and infers losses using cumulative or selective acknowledgements.
