A Decomposition Algorithm For Solving A Three Level Large Scale Linear Programming Problem, T. I. Sultan, O. E. Emam, A. A. Abohany

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This paper presents a three level large scale linear programming problem in which the objective functions at every level are to be maximized. A three level programming problem can be thought as a static version of the Stackelberg strategy. An algorithm for solving a three planner model and a solution method for treating this problem are suggested. At each level we attempt to optimize its problem separately as a large scale programming problem using Dantzig and Wolfe decomposition method. Therefore, we handle the optimization process through a series of sub problems that can be solved independently. Finally, a numerical example …

Prime (M,N) Bi-Γ -Hyperideals In Γ -Semihypergroups, Naveed Yaqoob, Muhammad Aslam

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Relations between rough sets and algebraic structures have been already considered by many mathematicians. Motivated by studying the properties of rough (m,n) bi-G -hyperideals in G -semihypergroups, we now introduced the notion of prime (m,n) bi- G -hyperideals in G -semihypergroups and investigated several properties of these prime (m,n) bi-G -hyperideals. Also we applied the rough set theory to these prime (m,n) bi-G -hyperideals and proved that the lower and upper approximation of a prime (m,n) bi-G - hyperideal is a prime (m,n) bi-G -hyperideal in a G -semihypergroup. In the end we established some results on rough prime (m,n) …

Buffer Insertion For Delay Minimization Using An Improved Pso Algorithm, Gholamreza Karimi, Alireza Ahmadi

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

This paper considers the problem of interconnect wire delay in digital integrated circuits. The correct wire sizing and buffer insertion/sizing can reduce the interconnect delay. The interconnect wire is divided into segments and to optionally buffers are inserted between two adjacent segments. But it is important to select appropriate values for the size of buffers as well as the lengths and widths of segments to minimize the delay. Since the delay is a multi-dimensional function, its optimizing process is complex and time-consuming. In this paper we introduce an improved particle swarm optimization for delay minimization. The aim is to reduce …

A Hybrid Defense Technique For Isp Against The Distributed Denial Of Service Attacks, Young Hoon Moon, Suk Bong Choi, Huy Kang Kim, Changsok Yoo

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

As malicious traffic from botnets now threatens the network infrastructure of Internet Service Providers (ISPs), the importance of controlling botnets is greater than ever before. However, it is not easy to handle rapidly evolving botnets efficiently because of the highly evolved detection avoidance techniques used by botnet makers. Further, nowadays, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks can compromise not only specific target sites but also the entire network infrastructure, as high-bandwidth Internet services are now being provided. Thus, ISPs are deploying their own defense systems to prevent DDoS attacks and protect their network infrastructure. However, the new problem ISPs confront …

Reducing Mutation Testing Endeavor Using The Similar Conditions For The Same Mutation Operators Occurs At Different Locations, Tannu Singla, Ajay Kumar, Sunita Garhwal

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Mutation testing is a software testing technique that ameliorates the quality and reliability of critical software. This paper presents a mutation testing technique based on the concept of the same mutation operator under similar conditions occuring at different locations in the program. In the proposed technique, we assemble the tantamount behaviour of mutants under a group and a single mutant is selected from the group for performing mutation testing. The benefits of the proposed approach are a reduction in time, cost and effort.

Continuous Turing Machine: Real Function Computability And Iteration Issues, Xiaoliang Chen, Wen Song, Zexia Huang, Mingwei Tang Sep 2014

Continuous Turing Machine: Real Function Computability And Iteration Issues, Xiaoliang Chen, Wen Song, Zexia Huang, Mingwei Tang

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Contemporary computer theory is governed by the discretization of continuous problems. Classical Turing machines (TMs) are originally built to solve computation and computability problems, which main feature is discreteness. However, even some simple numerical calculations problems, e.g., iterations in Rn, generate difficulties to be described or solved by constructing a TM. This paper explores the computability of continuous problems by proposing a class of continuous Turing machines (CTMs) that are an extension of TMs. CTMs can be applied to the standard for the precision of algorithms. First, computable real numbers are precisely defined by CTMs and their computations are regarded …

Application Of Differential Geometry In Magnetic Levitation Control, Hengkun Liu, Yungang Li, Hu Cheng Sep 2014

Application Of Differential Geometry In Magnetic Levitation Control, Hengkun Liu, Yungang Li, Hu Cheng

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

To enhance the reliability of levitation, an especial installation called joint-structure is applied to the maglev vehicle. Due to the joint-structure, each suspension point of the maglev vehicle is regulated by two independent controllers. When one controller of the suspension point breaks down, the system can still be stably suspended by the other controller. However, there is strong force-coupling between the two controllers for the joint-structure, which makes the controller designed based on totally separated suspension point unsuccessful in application. To realize stable suspension for joint-structure, diffenrential geometry method is introduced to obtain a globally decoupling and linearized model for the …

This paper planned the foot trajectory with cubic polynomial firstly. Then selected optimal stride frequency referred to that of four-legged mammals and stride length according to the required walking …

Fuzzy Stabilizer In Imtl-Algebras, Maosen Xie

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we introduced two types of fuzzy stabilizers St⊗ R (F) and St⊕ R (F) of a fuzzy set F and the stabilizer St∨(F, G) of F with respect to G in IMTL-algebras. We proved that St⊗ R (F), St⊕ R (F) and St∨(F, G) are fuzzy filters of M. We investigated some properties of the stabilizers. By introducing the e⊗ operation of two fuzzy filters, we prove that e⊗ and St∨(·, ·) form an adjoint pair and the set of all fuzzy filters F(M) is a residuated lattice.
