Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

We present an algorithm to solve a bi-level multi-objective fractional integer programming problem involving fuzzy numbers in the right-hand side of the constraints. The suggested algorithm combine the method of Taylor series together with the Kuhn Tucker conditions to solve fuzzy bi-level multi-objective fractional integer programming problem (FBLMOFIPP) then Gomory cuts are added till the integer solution is obtained. An illustrative example is discussed to demonstrate the correctness of the proposed solution method.

Three wave potential functions are introduced to uncouple the equations of motion. The frequency equations of longitudinal and flexural (symmetric and antisymmetric) modes are analyzed numerically for a cardioidal cross-sectional transversely isotropic solid bar immersed in …

Software Development For Transitions Of Graphs From Discrete State Into The Continuous State, Ahmet Koltuksuz, Cağatay Yücel

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Manifolds are suitable differentiable mathematical objects for information to be defined on. By their very definition they are non-Euclidean in the global view but in local scales they resemble Euclidean spaces. This property provides that the contemporary information models can also be defined within the previsioned new models of information models. One of the most basic representations of information is through graphs. They are discrete and highly computable mathematical objects. In this research, the main aim is to investigate methods of embedding this simple piece of information onto manifolds. This research shows that the very fundamental data structures of computer …

Hardy–Leindler Type Inequalities On Time Scales, S. H. Saker

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

In this paper, we will prove some new dynamic inequalities on a time scale T. These inequalities, as special cases, when T = R contain some integral inequalities and when T = N contain the discrete inequalities due to Leindler. The main results will be proved by using the H¨older inequality and a simple consequence of Keller’s chain rule on time scales. From our results, as applications, we will derive some new continuous and discrete Wirtinger type inequalities. The technique in this paper is completely different from the technique used by Leindler to prove his main results.

Finger Vein Recognition Based On Personalized Discriminative Bit Map, Xuzhou Li, Xiaoming Xi, Yilong Yin, Gongping Yang

Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences

Finger vein recognition is a promising biometric recognition due to its some advantages. For a finger vein recognition system, feature extraction is a critical step for the final recognition. In our previous work, we proposed Personalized Best Bit Map(PBBM) which selected the stable bits from LBP. Although PBBM achieve a better performance, it still contains some useless bits for recognition. In this paper, we propose Personalized Discriminative Bit Map(PDBM) which select much more discriminative bits from PBBM. The bits of PDMB are more discriminative and more effective for the final recognition. In addition, compared with PBBM, the number of bits …
