Modeling And Simulations Of An Input Coupler For A High-Power Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier As A Preliminary Investigation Into A Multi-Stream Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier, Ethan Wade

Electrical and Computer Engineering ETDs

The University of New Mexico (UNM) is working on developing a multi-stream Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) amplifier. One of the first steps to be taken during the design of a TWT amplifier is to design an input coupler to couple power from a lower power High Power Microwave (HPM) seed source to the slow wave structure (SWS) of the amplifier. In order to aid in the development of a TWT which operates in X-band, multiple options for input couplers have been designed for use in a greater TWT project at UNM. The primary tasks to be addressed with these input …

The Relationship Between Closed-Loop Auditory Stimulation During Sleep And Eeg On Memory Consolidation, Hector Patricio Valverde

Psychology ETDs

Slow-wave sleep is critical for consolidating information into long-term memory. Past research has found this process can be enhanced using closed-loop auditory stimulation (CLAS), where pink noise tones are timed to slow oscillations using live EEG to increase slow wave amplitude and synchronize connections across the neocortex, thalamus, and hippocampus. In this study, subjects slept in our laboratory while receiving counterbalanced sham or verum CLAS. Memory retention scores were calculated using a paired associates word task completed before and after sleep. Subjective sleep quality scores were also obtained. A total of 33 verum and 35 sham nights of data were …

Mg And Fe Co-Doped Perovskites For The Electrochemical Oxidative Coupling Of Methane In Solid Oxide Electrolyzers, Luke H. Denoyer

Chemical and Biological Engineering ETDs

More efficient usage of shale gas reserves and natural gas resources will allow for higher olefin yields and lower greenhouse gas emissions. The oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) is a direct pathway for converting methane to ethylene at temperatures >700 °C. The OCM process is typically regulated via the choice of catalyst, reactor conditions, temperature range and gas mixing. The electrochemical oxidative coupling of methane (E-OCM) is a modification to the OCM reaction by controlling the oxygen content via externally applied potentials to an SOEC. Perovskite oxide catalysts are useful for E-OCM due to their flexible bond networks and desired …

Late Cretaceous Ammonites And Other Non-Rudist Mollusks From Costa Rica And Their Paleoecology, Esteban David Lopez-Murillo

Earth and Planetary Sciences ETDs

The Nicoya region in northwestern Costa Rica contains a rich record of Upper Cretaceous fossiliferous sediments, which have received variable levels of study over the past several decades. In particular, rudists from these deposits have been well-characterized, however, the non-rudist ammonite, gastropod, and bivalve fauna have received much less attention. However, this area is particularly important because the Nicoya region was attached to the southernmost tip of North America, making it a unique crossroad between the western Tethys (Caribbean) and Pacific Oceans. Here I present a detailed investigation of these rocks and their fauna between the Late Campanian to Early …

Neutrosophic Mean Estimators Using Extreme Indeterminate Observations In Sample Surveys, Vinay Kumar Yadav, Deepak Majhi, Alia A. Alkhathami, Shakti Prasad

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

In classical statistics, research typically relies on precise data to estimate the population mean, especially when auxiliary information is available. However, in the presence of outliers, conventional statistical approaches that depend on accurate data and auxiliary information encounter challenges. The primary objective is to attain the most accurate population mean estimates while minimizing the mean square error. Neutrosophic statistics, a more attractive framework than classical statistics, deals with data characterized by imprecision and uncertainty. In this current article, we adapt S¨ arndal’s strategy and introduce neutrosophic mean estimators, applying them to meteorological data, specifically stratified dew point data. In these …

Superhypersoft Framework For College English Blended Teaching Quality Evaluation In The New Era: Addressing Uncertainty And Complexity, Dahai Zhang

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

A Single-Valued Neutrosophic Set (SVNS) is a powerful tool for representing uncertainty, ambiguity, and incomplete or inconsistent information in real-world scenarios. This approach is particularly effective for handling uncertain measurements and data. Building on the concept of fuzzy set entropy, the SVN-entropy method has been developed to support multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) processes. In this study, SVN-entropy is combined with the SuperHyperSoft (HSS) framework—an extension of HyperSoft sets— to evaluate different criteria and sub-criteria with varying values. The proposed method uses entropy to calculate criteria weights, which are then applied to assess the quality of College English Blended Teaching in the …

Innovative Efficiency Measurement Using Stackelberg Games And Neutrosophic Numbers, Ali Asghar Tatlari, Bijan Rahmani Perchkolaei, Farhad Hosseinzadeh Lotfi

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

This paper addresses the challenge of measuring efficiency in systems with two components using Stackelberg game theory and neutrosophic numbers to handle data uncertainty. Unlike traditional Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models that treat Decision Making Units (DMUs) as black boxes, we propose a new neutrosophic Network DEA (NDEA) model to compute efficiency scores for each division. By applying Stackelberg game theory, we break down the system's efficiency scores into sub-system efficiencies, providing a more detailed assessment of performance. Our proposed model represents a significant contribution to the literature by developing a two-stage Network Slack Based Measure (NSBM) model. This model …

Finite-Precision Stabilization For Neutrosophic Linear Systems Using A Descriptor Model Approach, Rongyao Ling, Songquan Shi, Wenhua Cui, Yiming Fang

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

This paper focuses on the stabilization problem of neutrosophic linear systems using finite-precision digital controllers. The main challenge lies in decoupling and processing the indeterminacies inherent in such systems. To tackle this, a standardization method that unifies the bounds of parameter indeterminacies is f irst proposed. Additionally, a fixed-point representation scheme is introduced to define both the precision and representation of the controller parameters. To handle multiple uncertainties in the system, a descriptor model approach is introduced, which transforms the closed-loop system into a singular system, allowing for more effective decoupling of uncertainties. Using singular system theory, a novel solvability …

Neutrosophic Formulation Of The Quadratic Transmuted Generalized Exponential Distribution: Properties And Applications, Kumarapandiyan Gnanasegaran, Benitta Susan Aniyan, Abdul Kani Jabarali

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

The Quadratic Transmuted Generalized Exponential Distribution (QTGED) enhances the general ized exponential distribution, making it a significant development for handling complex decision-making con texts. Traditional statistical distributions often focus on representing degrees of truth or membership in fuzzy sets, yet they struggle to capture situations involving incomplete, vague, or contradictory data accurately. This study introduces the Neutrosophic Quadratic Transmuted Generalized Exponential Distribution (NQTGED), specifically designed to address indeterminacy and transmuted data. Neutrosophic theory is essential here, as it overcomes the limitations of classical and fuzzy set theories by effectively managing uncertainty, indetermi nacy, and inconsistency in data. By simultaneously representing …

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems

Neutrosophic sets are an important field of topology that deals with inconsistent, indeterminate, and uncertain circumstances in real life. Hypersoft sets have grown in popularity due to their ability to represent data as a collection of trait-valued disjoint sets that combine various attributes. Motivated by this concept, we introduce a new hyper-approach known as hypersoft semi-separated, which employs hypersoft semi-open sets [HSO]. This article presents several local properties of HSO sets, such as hypersoft semi-neighborhoods of hypersoft points and hypersoft semi-first countable spaces. Additionally, definitions of hypersoft semi-connected [HSCO] spaces, hypersoft locally semi-connected [HLSCO] spaces, and associated properties are provided. …
