Birds Of The Southern Pacific Lowlands Of Guatemala With A Review Of Icterus Gularis, Robert W. Dickerman
Birds Of The Southern Pacific Lowlands Of Guatemala With A Review Of Icterus Gularis, Robert W. Dickerman
Special Publications
The avifauna of the southern Pacific lowlands of Guatemala was studied in conjunction with research on the ecology of mosquito-transmitted encephalitis viruses during the years 1967 to 1977. Studies were carried out in the vicinity of La Avellana, Santa Rosa Department, near the coastal village of Monterico. The occurrence and relative abundance of 224 species are documented here; 198 of those species are represented by specimens. Thirteen species were recorded for the first time in Guatemala, and 28 species for the first time in the Pacific lowlands. Relative abundance and dates of occurrence are presented for 85 species of migrants. …

Checklist Of Vascular Plants In The Sandia And Manzano Mountains Of Central New Mexico, Robert C. Sivinski
Occasional Papers
The flora of the central New Mexico range of mountains consisting of the Sandia, Manzanita and Manzano mountains is predominantly influenced by the southern Rocky Mountain regional flora, but also contains floristic elements from the adjacent Chihuahuan Desert, Great Plains and Colorado Plateau ecoregions. This vascular plant checklist documents 100 families, 454 genera, 798 native species, 108 exotic species, and 31 additional native infraspecific taxa for a total of 937 kinds of plants in the Sandia/Manzano range of mountains. Discussions of the local environment and climate, common plant associations, endemic and rare plants, exotic species, and plant collection history in …

The Sustainable Restoration And Development Of Parque Landeta And The Presa De Las Colonias Wetland Through Effective Community Participation, San Miguel De Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico, Tara Putney
Water Resources Professional Project Reports
Community participation in watershed management has been globally recognized as being one of the key elements in sustainable development. The appropriateness of adopted technologies, information transfers, socioeconomic and cultural sustainability, and monitoring and maintenance of water projects are all interconnected with the level of community participation. This professional project presents an analysis and recommendations for the sustainable development of a local park and its associated wetland resources through effective, relative and meaningful community involvement. Parque Landeta is found just outside the urban zone of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, which is located in the semi-arid Central Highlands of Mexico. Qualitative …
Relationship Of Forest Thinning And Selected Water Quality Parameters In The Santa Fe Municipal Watershed, New Mexico, Julie D. Arvidson
Relationship Of Forest Thinning And Selected Water Quality Parameters In The Santa Fe Municipal Watershed, New Mexico, Julie D. Arvidson
Water Resources Professional Project Reports
Noticeable forest thinning began in the Santa Fe Municipal Watershed in 2003 that could change the water quality of the Santa Fe River, a major drinking water source for the City of Santa Fe. Water quality monitoring was conducted spanning five years in treated and control portions of the watershed. This report evaluates the relationship between forest thinning and selected water quality parameters including total dissolved solids, electrical conductivity, total suspended solids, turbidity, calcium, magnesium, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, total organic carbon, total phosphorous, precipitation, water yield, and discharge. It tested the hypothesis that after treatment, the watershed would become more …

Surface Water Management: Working Within The Legal Framework, Kevin G. Flanigan
Surface Water Management: Working Within The Legal Framework, Kevin G. Flanigan
Law of the Rio Chama
There are six major reservoirs in New Mexico upstream of the Middle Rio Grande. This article provides some background on how those reservoirs are operated within the current legal framework and how those operations meet various purposes and needs within the Middle Rio Grande.
Between the Colorado-New Mexico state line on the north and Elephant Butte Reservoir on the south, four major tributaries join the Rio Grande, including the Rio Chama, the Jemez River, the Rio Salado, and the Rio Puerco. The Rio Chama is the primary tributary, heading in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado and joining the …

Quantization In Astrophysics, Brownian Motion, And Supersymmetry, Florentin Smarandache, Victor Christianto
Quantization In Astrophysics, Brownian Motion, And Supersymmetry, Florentin Smarandache, Victor Christianto
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
The present book discusses, among other things, various quantization phenomena found in Astrophysics and some related issues including Brownian Motion. With recent discoveries of exoplanets in our galaxy and beyond, this Astrophysics quantization issue has attracted numerous discussions in the past few years. Most chapters in this book come from published papers in various peer-reviewed journals, and they cover different methods to describe quantization, including Weyl geometry, Supersymmetry, generalized Schrödinger, and Cartan torsion method. In some chapters Navier-Stokes equations are also discussed, because it is likely that this theory will remain relevant in Astrophysics and Cosmology While much of the …

A Unifying Field In Logics: Neutrosophic Logic. Neutrosophy, Neutrosophic Set, Neutrosophic Probability And Statistics - 6th Ed., Florentin Smarandache
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
It was a surprise for me when in 1995 I received a manuscript from the mathematician, experimental writer and innovative painter Florentin Smarandache, especially because the treated subject was of philosophy - revealing paradoxes - and logics. He had generalized the fuzzy logic, and introduced two new concepts: a) “neutrosophy” – study of neutralities as an extension of dialectics; b) and its derivative “neutrosophic”, such as “neutrosophic logic”, “neutrosophic set”, “neutrosophic probability”, and “neutrosophic statistics” and thus opening new ways of research in four fields: philosophy, logics, set theory, and probability/statistics. It was known to me his setting up in …
