Investigation Of Phytochemical Profile And Antibacterial Potential Of Ethanolic Leaf Extract Of Prosopis Juliflora Dc., M. Sathiya, K. Muthuchelian
Ethnobotanical Leaflets
Prosopis juliflora DC. is commonly known as "mesquite". This tree is native to tropical America, but is naturalized in many countries including Egypt and India. The preliminary phytochemical screening of the leaves revealed the presence of tannins, acids, glycosides, flavonoids and alkaloids. In vitro antibacterial studies on the ethanolic leaf extracts were carried out on ten medically important bacterial strains (Salmonella typimurium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli, Psudomonas sp., Staphylococcus epidermis, Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococccus sp. and Bacillus subtilis) procured from the Microbial Type Culture and Collection, Chandigarh, India, using the agar disc diffusion method. The …

In Vitro Phytochemical Screening And Antibacterial Activity Of Organic Leaf Extracts Of Spathodea Campanulata P. Beauv Against Hospital Isolated Bacterial Strains, Rangasamy Dhanabalan Et Al.
Ethnobotanical Leaflets
Spathodea campanulata P. Beauv is extensively used in Indian traditional and folklore medicines to cure various human ailments. The preliminary phytochemical screening of the leaves revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids and terpenoids. In vitro antibacterial studies of the leaf extracts were carried out on eight medically important bacterial strains using agar disc diffusion method. The antibacterial assay using petroleum ether leaf extracts showed good inhibitory activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae and compared with standard antibiotic Streptomycin.
Studies On Antimicrobial Efficiency Of Citrullus Colocynthis (L.) Schrad: A Medicinal Plant, John Peter Paul J.
Studies On Antimicrobial Efficiency Of Citrullus Colocynthis (L.) Schrad: A Medicinal Plant, John Peter Paul J.
Ethnobotanical Leaflets
In the present study antimicrobial efficiency of Citrullus colocynthis (L.) Schrad was studied on seven bacteria Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi and Staphylococcus aureus. Ethanol, chloroform and petroleum ether extracts were used for antibacterial assay. Growth inhibitions were evaluated by the disc diffusion method. Ethanol extract is more active against Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris and Staphylococcus aureus. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus subtilis show moderate activity in chloroform extract. Petroleum ether extract is more active against Escherichia coli. All extracts exhibited considerably less activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae and Salmonella typhi.

Phytochemical Screening And Antibacterial Activity Of Leaf Extracts Of Pterocarpus Marsupium Roxb. (Fabaceae), S. Ramya Et Al.
Ethnobotanical Leaflets
The present study was carried out to screen and evaluate the antimicrobial activity of bark and leaf extracts from Pterocarpus marsupium Roxb. Hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts were tested against four selected Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Result indicated that phytochemical extracts of P. marsupium exhibited significant anti-bacterial activity at all dosage tested (1mg/ disc and 5mg/ disc). However, the inhibitory activity was found to be dose dependent. Ethyl acetate and methanol extracts were found to be more active towards the organisms tested than hexane extract. This study depicts that ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of bark and …

The organic leaf extracts of this species was evaluated for antimalarial activity against clinically isolated Plasmodium falciparum chloroquine-resistant and sensitive strains. The in vitro antimalarial activity was performed following schizont maturation inhibition assay, (SMI). The ethanol fraction exhibited very good antiplasmodial activity against both chloroquine sensitive and resistant Plasmodium falciparum isolates followed by the butanol and chloroform extracts.

Ethnobotanical Leaflets
This paper deals with the antimicrobial and phytochemical studies of Crotalaria madurensis Wt. var. kurnoolica Ellis et Swaminathan. (Fabaceae), an endemic medicinal plant found in the forests of Nallamallias of Eastern Ghats of India. The ether and ethyl acetate extracts of the plant material exhibited a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity on human pathogenic microorganisms of six bacterial and two fungal strains. The minimum inhibitory concentrations were provided. The results were supported by phytochemical analysis.
A Survey Of Recent Illinois Ethics Law: Professionalism In Practice, Kate T. Hlava
A Survey Of Recent Illinois Ethics Law: Professionalism In Practice, Kate T. Hlava
Southern Illinois University Law Journal
Professionalism should be a part of every Illinois lawyer’s daily practice. It is not enough to memorize the Rules of Professional Responsibility. Creating a legal practice that reflects one’s ethical duties and lives up the high degree of professionalism required by an attorney is a daily task and one that cannot be accomplished without effort. The rules can be unclear and ethical dilemmas can be ambiguous.
However, in many situations there are no excuses; the rules and case law make clear what is required. There are rules that every attorney should know and ethical duties that should always be implemented. …

Studies On In Vitro Antimicrobial Activity Of Ethanol Extract Of Rauvolfia Tetraphylla, K. Suresh, S. Saravana Babu, R. Harisaranraj
Ethnobotanical Leaflets
The antimicrobial activity of ethanol extract obtained from Rauvolfia tetraphylla was tested against bacterial species of Escherichia coli, Streptococcus lactis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Alcaligenes faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris, and fungal species of Fusarium oxysporum, Alternaria helianthii, Curvularia lunata, Aspergillus niger, and Penicillium spp. Better antimicrobial activity was observed when the extracts showed maximum activity against E. coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, and Alcaligenes faecalis. Among different fungi tested, A. niger and Penicillium spp were found to be more sensitive to crude extract when compared to others.
