Guide To Revenue Calculations: Local Option Highway User Tax 1989, Herpicc Jun 1989

Guide To Revenue Calculations: Local Option Highway User Tax 1989, Herpicc

Indiana Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Publications

This guide is provided to explain the output generated by the computer programs, and to suggest ways in which the results can be adapted to specific LOHUT proposals before a County Council. HERPICC neither endorses nor opposes passage of a LOHUT. The revenue projections it provides are intended to be an aid to well-informed decision-making on the part of a county’s citizens and its County Council.

Dap2d: A Two-Dimensional Device Simulation Tool For Silicon Bipolar Transistors, J. L. Egley, J. L. Gray

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technical Reports

The purpose of this document is to serve as the final report for work performed for Delco Electronics for the period January 1, 1986 through May 15, 1989. A computer program, SCAP2D (Solar Cell Analysis Program in 2- Dimensions) has been successfully converted to enable the simulation of bipolar transistors, including Delco’s thin-epi transistor. This code will be referred to as DAP 2D (Device Analysis Program in 2-Dimensions). Complete source code of DAP 2D is being released to Delco Electronics. This report is organized as follows. Chapter 2 provides a review of the numerical device modeling and discusses code enhancements …

Detailed Modeling And Reliability Analysis Of Fault-Tolerant Processor Arrays, Noe Lopez-Benitez, Jose A. B. Fortes Jun 1989

Detailed Modeling And Reliability Analysis Of Fault-Tolerant Processor Arrays, Noe Lopez-Benitez, Jose A. B. Fortes

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technical Reports

Recent advances in VLSI/WSI technology have led to the design of processor arrays with a large number of processing elements confined in small areas. The use of redundancy to increase fault-tolerance has the effect of reducing the ratio of area dedicated to processing elements over the area occupied by other resources in the array. The assumption of fault-free hardware support (switches, buses, interconnection links, etc.,), leads at best to conservative reliability estimates. However, detailed modeling entails not only an explosive growth in the model state space but also a difficult model construction process. To address the latter problem, a systematic …

Self-Organizing Neural Network For Optimum Supervised Learning, Manoel Fernando Tenorio, Wei-Tsih Lee Jun 1989

Self-Organizing Neural Network For Optimum Supervised Learning, Manoel Fernando Tenorio, Wei-Tsih Lee

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technical Reports

This work introduces a new algorithm called the Self-Organizing Neural Network (SONN), and demonstrates its use in a system identification task. The algorithm constructs a network, chooses the neuron functions, and adjusts the weights. Here, it is compared to the Back-Propagation algorithm in the identification of the chaotic time series. The results show that SONN constructs a simpler, more accurate model, requiring less training data and epochs. The algorithm can also be applied as a classifier.

The Arguments Of Agriculture: A Casebook In Contemporary Agricultural Controversy, Jan Wojcik Jun 1989

The Arguments Of Agriculture: A Casebook In Contemporary Agricultural Controversy, Jan Wojcik

Purdue University Press Books

The Arguments of Agriculture presents the major issues, questions, and conflicting opinions of influential policymakers and critics concerning the role and future of modern agriculture. The author urges the reader to weight and consider all positions and supplies a primer in the basic arguments of agriculture. Each chapter begins with a series of hypothetical cases that illustrate the range of theoretical issues discussed in the chapter. The next section analyzes the basic issues, and the section entitled "Review" summarizes and contrasts the opinions of a number of prominent critics. Each chapter concludes with a list of recommended readings.
