This study was made in order to determine the practicability of establishing school and community museums in the State of Kansas. Many of the state, private, and W. P. A. museums were visited in order to learn the best museum practices and procedures. According to the best authorities every small school and community museum should have four divisions of exhibits, history, art, science, and industrial materials. The methods of collecting , preparing, preserving, and exhibiting history, art, science, and industrial materials were outlined. The classifying, labelling, cataloguing, and arranging of exhibits according to the recognized standard procedure are presented. School …

The specific problem or this thesis which is to determine whether children of the first grade who have had certain specific activities in connection with their regular school work achieve more and make better progress than children of the same grade who have not had experience in such activities. The particular activities in this experimental investigation were: (a) the "reading library"; (b) the "toy library".

The purpose of this curriculum is to present to the first grade teachers ·of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, a tentative Course in English, with suggestive ideas for planning and carrying out a balanced English program in the first grades of our parochial schools. It is organized into closely knit units, each with a central theme of' interest, such as conversation, story telling, etc.
Several type lessons are given through.out the course, which may serve as models for the teacher. However, they should not be taught verbatim. They are given in order to stimulate teachers, and to give them a fairly …

A Study In The Adaptability Of Text Book Content In Meeting Present Rural School Pupil Achievement In Music, Otto Weigel

The problem of this thesis is this: the writer believes that the present level of achievement of rural school pupils is somewhat below what it should be to successfully master materials in the ordinary music textbooks as now written and adapted in this state. He believes that study of this problem will be beneficial in the matter of writing future materials or in rearranging the program in music for rural school pupils.

In Nebraska, a hustling frontier state in 1887, the legislature hesitated not at all in taking advantage of the provisions of the Hatch Act, and now that fifty years have elapsed since the Station was founded, seventy-five years since the Land Grant College Act was passed and the U. S. Department of Agriculture established, and almost twenty-five years since the Agricultural Extension Service was added, it seems worth while to present a general summary of achievement within the state.
