State Of The Grid: Cybersecurity Best Practices For The Utility Industry, Corban Garcia

Developing a strong cybersecurity posture is essential for protecting critical infrastructure, especially in the utility industry. This study analyzes a multi-layered cybersecurity approach that integrates risk management, technology, governance, and workforce training. Based on an examination of industry literature, six key steps were identified. These include assessing security posture, developing policies, implementing security controls, employee training, incident response planning, and regular audits. Each step plays a vital role in mitigating cyber threats and ensuring operational resilience. A comparative analysis of cybersecurity frameworks and real-world incidents highlights the necessity of proactive security strategies. NASP (2021) provides recommendations for distance education (DE) in school psychology, however, this guidance lacks input from students with lived experiences. To address this gap, a survey was completed by 106 current and recently graduated online/hybrid graduate students in school psychology. Descriptive statistics, qualitative trends, and comparative analyses were utilized to examine responses. Findings illuminate student perceptions of preparedness and highlight the need for, and impact of, the flexibility and convenience afforded by DE.

Research has identified the importance of perceived employability in enhancing new graduates’ job search and finding initial employment. Students with high perceived employability are likely to have high self-confidence and perseverance in their job search, which may lead to early initial employment post-graduation. Perceived employability affects how new graduating students approach competitive and congested labour markets and is seen as one of the most important predictors of a new graduate getting and retaining a job. Due to the immense complexities of nursing education, students in a program of nursing experience higher levels of stress when compared to other disciplines, which can lead to negative learning outcomes and attrition resulting in significant financial losses for academic institutions. Peer mentoring is an evidence-based strategy to support students by engaging in a mutual relationship, yielding positive learning outcomes through stress reduction for the mentee and the mentor. Accessibility disclosure is a core principle of the Project IRIS Best Practice Framework. This instructional resource-- Accessibility Disclosure Statements: Best Practices for Documenting Inclusive Web-Based Research Design-introduces options for reporting accessible web-based research design efforts in scholarly and professional publications. The three forms of accessibility disclosure statements are introduced: summary statements, reports of analysis--both general and specific-, and detailed process descriptions. Each of these strategies including terms, conceptual definitions, and examples are provided. The instructional resource may be of interest to undergraduate and graduate course instructors teaching research methods courses in a variety of social science disciplines.

The Collaborative AI Open Educational Resource (OER) explores how artificial intelligence can act as a creative and analytical collaborator rather than a tool. Centered on the Balanced Blended Space (BBS) framework and the philosophy of the Center for Holistic Integration (CHI), the OER includes curriculum materials, theoretical models, and live research environments. It offers an interesting approach to blending physical, virtual, and conceptual spaces through shared human–AI agency and invites ongoing participation in interdisciplinary meta-projects.

Integrative field mapping combined with published and unpublished seismic profiles, support an inferred, easternmost limit of Sevier thrusting during Late Cretaceous foreland deformation in east-central Utah. East-verging thrust faults, drag folds, and chatter marks within Jurassic and Late-Cretaceous exposures at Ketobe Knob along the western margin of Cedar Mountain in the northwestern and central parts of the San Rafael Swell and within the western zone of the Colorado Plateau provide evidence for a more easterly expression of the Sevier Thrust Front. Offset is accomplished by bedding-parallel slippage along less competent shales and siltstones and by oblique ramping across more competent …

Laser scanning of transportation aggregate materials provided a means to identify aggregate types, sources, and quality in near-real time. A multi-state project led by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and facilitated by Chesner Engineering (Coeymans, New York) used laser ablation breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to determine whether the technique could be used to predict durability (D)-cracking aggregate susceptibility and whether LIBS could be evaluated to ensure that the source materials were all derived from approved materials. A bibliometric analysis was conducted over the bibliographies of astronomy and geology doctoral dissertations written between 1970 and 2020 in order to review the document types that are utilized and cited. An investigation was made of various cited reference ages and how cited references in dissertations have evolved with the advent of electronic resources and preprint services. Our study examined 50 astronomy and 50 geology dissertations with 10 dissertations selected from each decade (n = 100). Results measured included 13,475 total references and the study found that references to journal articles increased, and book citations have decreased in both …

Historically, censorship of LGBTQ+ content in education has been rooted in socio-political efforts to marginalize non-heteronormative identities. However, even those who oppose censorship tend to frame their arguments around concepts like “age-appropriateness” and “protecting children.” Our Critical Discourse Analysis examines formal challenges to And Tango Makes Three in one Florida school district in 2022 to show how these concepts are deployed on both sides of the debate. The book, depicting a same-sex penguin couple raising a chick, faced objections under Florida’s HB 1557, a law designed to restrict discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in schools. By examining the literature and backstory of SoTL, clear guidelines for well-designed research studies supported by evidence provide compelling reasons for SoTL papers to contribute to international knowledge, change thinking, advance practice in higher education and meet the aims of scholarly academic journal.
