Effective ways of conflict management must be found for missionaries when no trusted mediator in the region is available. Home office management or leaders in other regions can intervene through context rich media, such as the telephone and video conferencing, to provide help. Intervention through context poor media, such as email, is much less likely to succeed. Effective managerial intervention involving interaction with each party can lead to reframing the conflict into an opportunity to cooperate and find mutually beneficial solutions. To allow for a greater understanding of potential allocation adjustment mechanisms and requirements for their implementation, Western Australia’s Department of Fisheries is exploring potential mechanisms with reference to their application in the Western and South Australian rock lobster fisheries. This work is being conducted as part of the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) project 2007/050 Developing Mechanisms for the Transfer and/or Adjustment of Rock Lobster Shares Between Sectors in Western Australia and South Australia. This report documents the Department of Fisheries’ initial exploration and findings in relation to potential inter-sectoral reallocation mechanisms.

Beyond actual institutional influences, entrepreneurs’ perceptions of institutions and their potential inconsistencies in interpreting institutional change may influence entrepreneurial intent to quit a business. Especially at the microentrepreneurial level, inconsistencies in perceptions of institutional change may variously affect individuals’ intent to abandon their business, seek jobs in other sectors, or even continue in business despite regulatory institutional changes making their business legally untenable. The purpose of this paper is to address this critical acquisition failure issue from an absorptive capacity perspective. This study discusses how social movements can influence economic systems. Employing a political–cultural approach to markets, it purports that ‘compromise movements’ can help change existing institutions by proposing new ones. This study argues in favor of the role of social movements in reforming economic institutions. More precisely, Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) movements can help bring SRI concerns into financial institutions. In 2008, 33.7 million Americans teleworked from home. The Telework Enhancement Act (S. 707) and the Telework Improvements Act (H.R. 1722) of 2009 were designed to increase the number of teleworkers. The research problem addressed was the lack of understanding of factors that influence home-based teleworkers' job satisfaction. Job dissatisfaction has been found to have a significant impact on voluntary turnover.
