Competency-Based Education In Business And Accounting, Jill Halverson

The North American Accounting Studies

Competency-based education programs in the United States have grown over the past decade in response to the need to address adult learners who have earned some college credits but have not earned a degree. Language In Collaborative Spaces: Advantages And Barriers, Ludovica Leone, Cristina Guardiano, Monica Alexandrina Irimia, Elisa Mattarelli, Fabrizio Montanari

Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity

An indispensable desideratum in collaborative spaces is to foster dynamic, barrier-free environments where professionals from different backgrounds can find common ground for collaborative projects. However, although such goals cannot be met without proficient and effective communication, research on the use of language as the most important means of information exchange in collaborative spaces is still needed. Our contribution in this chapter consists in exploring the linguistic interactions among coworkers of such spaces. We propose a multidisciplinary approach integrating insights from the organizational literature on communication and research methods in theoretical linguistics. The sociolinguistic analysis of two coworking spaces reveals essential …

Market Viability Of An Avoided Wildfire Ghg Emission Accounting Framework For California, Justine Bui

Master's Projects and Capstones

Forests in California and elsewhere are under an increasing threat of uncharacteristically large and severe wildfires. Fuel treatments, such as tree density reduction or prescribed burns, can alter wildfire behavior and potentially reduce risk. An environmental consulting group is currently developing a probability-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accounting framework that would provide tools to quantify GHG benefits of fuel treatments and help fund said treatments through carbon offset credits. This framework is being developed in collaboration with key stakeholders (such as public agencies, carbon offset registries, non-profit organizations, and the private sector) in the western United States. A market assessment …

Derek Binney has proposed a matrix like framework that assigns business functions to the corresponding knowledge cycle phase. Knox Haggie and John Kingston have revised Binney’s spectrum to include an additional business function, that is Asset Improvement, in an attempt to foster intellectual asset management and operational excellence. Organizational Stressors As Predictors Of Burnout, Kristen Albritton 2020 The University of Southern Mississippi

Organizational Stressors As Predictors Of Burnout, Kristen Albritton

Dissertations

The purpose of this study is to determine if organizational stress, measured by role conflict and role ambiguity, predicts burnout among employees. A review of the related literature identified variables that demonstrate a relationship with burnout, supported by the Maslach (1998) theory of burnout and Katz and Kahn’s (1966) organizational role theory. The researcher also examined whether organizational level and demographic variables (gender, education level, and job tenure) moderate the relationships between role conflict, role ambiguity, and burnout.

The study follows a non-experimental, cross-sectional design using data collected from a survey. Results of linear regression analyses reveal role conflict and …
