Because the project will receive funding from the Federal Highways Administration, it qualifies as an undertaking as defined in Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations Part 800.16(y) and, therefore, survey was conducted in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (54 U.S. Code 306108). The project area is located in the southern 10.5 acres of Forest Park in central Fort Worth. The parcel is bounded by Park Hill Drive (Dr) on the north, Sandage Avenue (Ave) on the west, McPherson Ave on the south, and McCart Ave on the east. South (S.) Forest Dr bisects the property. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has considered the loss of the bridge to be a natural disaster worthy of partial funding and this agency is responsible for the proper management of this project. On November 6, 2017 TxDOT archeologists conducted an intensive archeological survey under Texas Antiquities Permit Number 8212 for the proposed widening of the east/west segment of State Highway (SH) 165 located within the Texas State Cemetery in Austin in Travis County, Texas. The Texas State Cemetery has been previously determined eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places and is also recorded as a Texas State Antiquities Landmark. The cemetery has been previously recorded as the archeological site, 41TV1700.

The proposed pipeline will begin approximately 0.5 mile (mi; 0.8 kilometer [km]) west of Orla, Texas, along Ranch-to-Market (RM) 652. Services requested included the documentation of two historic cisterns present in the vicinity of the Courthouse and Old Jail Building and the mapping of foundations recently uncovered during the restoration of the Courthouse Building.

In August 2017, Deep East Texas Archaeological Consultants (DETAC) conducted a cultural resource management survey of the proposed Farmersville sewer system improvements in Collin County, Texas (TWDB/THC #201700814) under Texas Antiquities Permit #7990. Proposed improvements include 12.3 km (7.6 mi) along seven pipelines along with modifications to three lift stations and the construction of four lift stations. Total project area was 7.7 hectares (19.1 acres). Shovel testing and visual examination did not find any evidence of cultural resources; no artifacts were collected. An intensive archeological survey was completed in order to inventory and evaluate archeological resources within the footprint of proposed widening improvements to Farm-to-Market Road 2100 between Huffman-Cleveland Road and the proposed State Highway (SH) 99 (Grand Parkway) in eastern Harris County, Texas. The project is approximately 5.73 miles or 9.2 kilometers in length and has a typical width of between 150 to 220 feet or 45.7 to 67.0 meters. The APE is 147.37 acres or 83 hectares with 90.93 acres or 36.8 hectares of the total being new right-of-way. Typical roadway construction would occur within 2 feet or 0.6 meters, …
