"Building permit figures recently released by the Rhode Island Builders Association indicate that housing construction in the first quarter of 1978 is well ahead of the comparable period for 1977. The signs are encouraging that this year will be better than the last and that the recovery continues from 1975, the poorest year for the housing industry in the 1970s."

An Economic Evaluation Of The Product Sugar With Special Emphasis On The Abnormal Sugar Market Of 1963-1964, Merlin J. Olsen
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
The product sugar is studied in detail with special emphasis on supply and demand factors, in an attempt to better understand the abnormal sugar market of 1963-1964.
The unusual market fluctuations of that period appear to have been initiated by a statistical imbalance in world supply and demand of sugar.
The extent of price fluctuations in the United States during 1963-1964 were accentuated by the inability of current sugar legislation to shield the U. S. market from the world market, and by the openly aggressive purchasing policies followed by the U. S. Department of Agriculture which further aggravated an already …

A Description Of The Policies And Procedures Of Retail Feed Dealers In Utah, 1958, Orson B. Roper
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
The retail feed industry has grown continually in importance during the past 60 years. Increased population has placed ever greater demands upon food production to feed our nation's people. During 1968, the average American consumed 80 pounds of beef, 63 pounds of pork, 8 pounds of veal, 4 pounds of lamb, 26 pounds of chicken, and 11 pounds of lard. This amounted to an annual per capita consumption of 188 pounds of red meat. With 173 million people to feed, vast quantities of livestock must be produced, finished, and marketed to satisfy our nation's needs.

Comparative Costs Of Home-Produced And Commercially Produced Bread And Rolls, Edna B. Snyder
Historical Research Bulletins of the Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station
The purpose of this study was to determine the comparative costs of home-produced and commercially produced white and whole-wheat bread and rolls. Costs of home-produced bread were estimated on the basis of cost of ingredients and fuel, plus time. These costs were compared to costs of commercially prepared bread available at retail. Nutritive value was considered in interpreting results. The method used was a combination of survey and laboratory investigation. The survey included: (1) information regarding the baking practice of families in Nebraska, (2) detailed records of amounts and costs of ingredients, fuels, and time used in home-produced bread, (3) …
