This study examines the constructs of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In this study, a canonical correlation analysis (CCA) was used to estimate relationships between identified dimensions of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This study confirmed previous research showing that job satisfaction and organizational commitment constructs have positive and canonical relationship. The study samples are 405 of Library and Information Professionals selected randomly at the 2014 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nigeria Library Association held in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. Wildlife forensics is an emerging field of Forensic Sciences, where science is applied to legal cases involving wildlife. For this study, 200 questionnaires have been administered among research scholars through e-mail. Book borrowing is a key service in libraries. Library users frequently visit the library for borrowing books compared to other library services. To predict book-borrowing service in a college library, Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model has been developed from the data pertaining to book borrowing during the year 1998 to 2013. The study found that the number of books borrowed one month and twelve months earlier could estimate the number of books borrowed in a month. Emotional Intelligence Of Library Personnel And Library Work Productivity In Selected Academic Libraries In Oyo State, Nigeria, John Adeboye Oyeboade

Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a capacity that profoundly affects all other abilities in every human being, either facilitating or interfering with them. This study investigated emotional intelligence of library personnel and library work productivity in selected Academic Libraries in Oyo State, Nigeria. Responses were generated from 186 library personnel across eight (8) selected academic libraries in Oyo State, Nigeria. The questionnaire was used for data collection. Using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation, it was found out that Self-Awareness (r = .521**; P < 0.05), Self-Management (r = .154*; P < 0.05), Social Awareness (r = .192**; P < 0.05), and Relationship Management (r = .790**; P < 0.05) were positively correlated with Library Work Productivity. Likewise, Emotional Intelligence (r = .085*; P < 0.05) has significant positive relationship with Library Work Productivity. The ANOVA showed that self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management jointly and significantly predict library work productivity by 52.1%. The paper therefore, recommended academic library Managements can therefore include quality EI training and coaching in their on the job training programs. Those who work extra hours to make up for yet to be realised goals should adequately be motivated. Finally, Emotional Intelligence Quotients should form part of the criteria for employing library personnel in Nigerian academic libraries.

Abstract

This work is an attempt at theoretical modelling. The result of a search for a theoretical framework and a conceptual model to explain lecturers’ use of Educational Support Systems (ESS) for teaching in university-based library schools in Nigeria. The applicability, similarity and relevance of Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) were discussed.
