Publication Trends In Global Output Of Spintronics: A Scientometric Profile, Ramiah Santha Kumar Dr

This paper attempts to highlight the growth and development of Spintronics publication based on Web of Science database during the period 2000-2014. A total of 6195 publications were published on spintronics, which received 134,467 citations. The average number of publications per year was 413 and the average number of citations per publication was 21.71. The publications peaked in 2014 with 874 publications, whereas the highest number of citations 16,696 was received in 2005. Science map is a useful tool to understand the structure of a discipline, research networks and collaborations. Wildlife forensics is an emerging field of Forensic Sciences, where science is applied to legal cases involving wildlife. This study is aimed at creating science maps of Wildlife Forensics, both at global level and regional (i.e. India) level using PubMed database. A total of 303 records pertaining to global and 29 records pertaining to India published between 2001 and 2015 are obtained from the PubMed. The present study determines the extent of India’s Publication growth in Science and Technology. The data was extracted from the Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science for the period 1989-2014. The study covers a year wise growth of Science and Technology publications; Relative Growth Rate (RGR), Doubling Time (DT), Activity Index (AI) of different countries; international collaboration, productive Indian Institutes, prolific authors in Science and Technology field. This paper attempts to highlight the publication status and growth of nuclear physics research across the world by way of analyzing various features of research output based on Web of Science database. A total of 32286 publications were published on nuclear physics during the period 2004-2013. The paper presents an analysis of 11181 global publications in medical physics, indexed in Web of science database during 2000-2013; the average number of publications published per year was 798.64. Out of 11181 publications, maximum of 5014 (44.84%) publications have been contributed by mega authors, followed by multi authors with 3588 (32.09%) publications. The value of co authorship index for mega authored publications is the highest. The highest value of collaboration coefficient is 0.67 in 2013.
