$1 Million To Purchase Genealogy Materials

The article reports that the Muscogee County Library board of trustees has earmarked $1 million for the purchase of materials for the Genealogy and Local History Department of the Chattahoochee Valley Regional Library System in Georgia. The amount was part of the $6.1 million that remained from a 1999 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax that paid for the construction of the Columbus Public Library (Main Branch). The selection process was overseen by genealogy staff which includes members John Lyles and Ginny Stola.
