Ict Development And Wage Premiums Across Countries, Hongwu Dai

This study examines the effect of ICT on wage premium, by using data from 64 countries during the period 2010–2016. The Fixed Effect Model (FEM) is employed to study the relationship between ICT development and income inequality, by using two dependent variables: the conventional wage premium and wage premiums for ICT-intensive occupation. The main findings are: 1) the wage premium in countries with low levels of ICT development is relatively higher; 2) the development of ICT has a positive relationship with the wage premium; 3) the roles of the three sub-indexes of ICT development are different: ICT access shows a …

Wage Compensation Differentials For Job Risk Between Formal And Informal Workers, Pinyada Suwannarat

This research estimates compensating wage differentials for job risks for formal and informal workers in Thailand, the latter of whom are not covered by prevailing labor laws. Using data from the National Statistical Office’s Thai Labor Force Survey for years 2012 to 2018 merged with job fatality risk collected by the Social Security Office, the results show that the fatality risk rate has a positive, significant effect on wages. The value of statistical life for the median formal workers is 79.33 million baht compared to 41.5 million baht for the median informal worker. This study examines the effect of types of investor investment flow on Thailand Stock Market Index returns. Daily data on investment types, namely, foreign investors, institutional investors, proprietary investors, and retail investors from the Stock Exchange of Thailand for the period 2015 to 2020 is used. The results from the OLS model show that proprietary investors dominate the SET index. We also conduct a Granger causality test to understand the relationship between the SET index and investor investment flow. It used secondary data from “China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study”, this data was based on family and individual who are 45 and over years old with a total of 17,000 individuals in 2015. Thailand launched the Universal Coverage Scheme (UCS) in 2001 and most studies are focusing on the impact of the UCS on healthcare utilization and out-of-pocket (OOP) expenditure. None of the studies, however, examines healthcare utilization and OOP expenditure across the three main public health insurance schemes, i.e. UCS, Social Security Scheme (SSS), and Civil Servant Medical Benefit Scheme (CSMBS). งานวิจัยฉบับนี้ได้ศึกษาถึงผลกระทบของการลงทุนโดยตรงจากต่างประเทศต่อการแพร่กระจายผลิตภาพการผลิตในอุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์ของประเทศไทย โดยใช้ข้อมูลรายสถานประกอบการจากสำมะโนอุตสาหกรรม ปี พ.ศ. 2555 และ 2560 และประมาณค่าด้วยวิธี Ordinary Least Square (OLS) ผลการศึกษาแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน โดยในส่วนที่ 1 ศึกษาผลกระทบจากการลงทุนโดยตรงจากต่างประเทศต่อผลิตภาพการผลิตของสถานประกอบการยานยนต์ พบว่าสถานประกอบการที่มีต่างชาติร่วมลงทุนจะมีผลิตภาพการผลิตที่สูงกว่าสถานประกอบการที่ไม่มีต่างชาติร่วมลงทุน ส่วนในส่วนที่ 2 ศึกษาการแพร่กระจายผลิตภาพการผลิตจากการลงทุนโดยตรงจากต่างประเทศต่อสถานประกอบการยานยนต์ท้องถิ่น พบว่าการเข้ามาลงทุนของต่างชาติส่งผลให้เกิดการแพร่ กระจายผลิตภาพการผลิตไปสู่สถานประกอบการยานยนต์ท้องถิ่น ทำให้สถานประกอบการยานยนต์ท้องถิ่นมีผลิตภาพการผลิตสูงขึ้น การสะสมทุนมนุษย์เป็นตัวแปรสำคัญที่ทำให้การเข้ามาของต่างชาติส่งผลกระทบต่อการเพิ่มผลิตภาพการผลิตของสถานประกอบการท้องถิ่นได้ดียิ่งขึ้น

The main objective of this research is finding out whether the country of origin effect, the branding of “Made in Thailand” for Chili paste product has any leverage on local and foreigner customers upon their purchase intention. The methodology of this research is an online google survey with a total of 160 respondents. As a result, regardless of nationality, 72 percent of all respondents have chosen a package with "Made in Thailand" logo. So the country of origin effect applied to both local and foreigner consumers.

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบของภาษีความหวานต่อราคาเครื่องดื่ม ผ่านการวิเคราะห์การเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคาและภาระภาษีที่ถูกส่งผ่านไปยังผู้บริโภค โดยใช้ข้อมูลราคาขายปลีกของเครื่องดื่มจากกระทรวงพานิชย์ ในช่วงเวลาก่อนและหลังการเก็บภาษีความหวานรอบที่สอง 6 เดือน ซึ่งงานวิจัยนี้จะใช้วิธี difference-in-differences ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยมีกลุ่มทดลองคือเครื่องดื่มที่มีน้ำตาล ซึ่งกลุ่มทดลองข้างต้นนี้จะถูกแบ่งเป็นกลุ่มย่อยตามปริมาณน้ำตาลที่มีในเครื่องดื่มนั้น ๆ ได้แก่กลุ่มเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงมาก สูง ปานกลาง ต่ำ และต่ำมาก ตามลำดับ และทำการเทียบเครื่องดื่มกลุ่มทดลองแต่ละกลุ่มกับน้ำดื่มที่เป็นกลุ่มควบคุม ผลพบว่าในภาพรวมของราคาเครื่องดื่มที่ถูกเก็บภาษีมีการปรับตัวสูงขึ้น คิดเป็นประมาณ 0.227 บาท/100 มิลลิลิตร อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.01 โดยเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลปานกลางมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคามากที่สุด รองลงมาคือเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำ และเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำมากตามลำดับ ส่วนเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงและสูงมากไม่พบการเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคา และพบว่าในภาพรวมของเครื่องดื่มที่ถูกเก็บภาษีทั้งหมดมีการผลักภาระไปยังผู้บริโภคประมาณ 854% โดยเครื่องดื่มที่มีการผลักภาระภาษีไปยังผู้บริโภคมากที่สุดคือเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำมาก รองลงมาคือเครื่องเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำ และเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลปานกลางตามลำดับ ส่วนเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงและสูงมากไม่พบการผลักภาระภาษีไปยังผู้บริโภค

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเหลื่อมล้ำของค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองของผู้สูงอายุในประเทศไทยโดยผ่านตัวแปรดัชนีความมั่งคั่งและความสัมพันธ์ของปัจจัยอื่นๆต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองของผู้สูงอายุ ซึ่งกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้คือ ผู้สูงอายุที่มีอายุ 60 ขึ้นไป ข้อมูลที่ใช้เป็นข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากสำรวจอนามัยและสวัสดิการ พ.ศ. 2560 และ 2062 ที่เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์คือสถิติเชิงพรรณนาและการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยโทบิต ซึ่งจะแบ่งการวิเคราะห์เป็น 2 กรณีคือ กรณีผู้ป่วยนอกและกรณีผู้ป่วยใน ผลการวิจัยทั้งในกรณีที่ผู้สูงอายุเป็นผู้ป่วยนอกและผู้ป่วยในพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งหรือระดับรายได้ที่ต่ำมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งหรือระดับรายได้ที่สูงกว่า แสดงถึงความเหลื่อมล้ำในการเลือกเข้ารับการรักษาในสถานพยาบาลที่แตกต่างกันตามความสามารถในการจ่ายของผู้สูงอายุ นอกจากนี้การวิเคราะห์ในกรณีผู้ป่วยนอกยังพบว่า จำนวนสมาชิกในครัวเรือนมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเอง ผู้สูงอายุที่อาศัยอยู่ในภาคกลาง, ภาคเหนือ, ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ และภาคใต้มีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพ จำนวนโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเอง ผู้สูงอายุที่ป่วยในกลุ่มโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังในกลุ่มโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด กลุ่มโรคเบาหวานและความผิดปกติของต่อมไร้ท่อและเมตะบิลิซึมมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่ได้ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง แต่ในผู้สูงอายุที่ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังในกลุ่มอื่นๆมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่ได้ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง ผู้สูงอายุที่มีสิทธิข้าราชการ/ ข้าราชการบำนาญมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลอื่นๆ และผู้สูงอายุที่อยู่ในระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งที่ต่ำและมีสิทธิประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้ามีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งที่สูงกว่าและมีสิทธิประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้า ส่วนในกรณีผู้ป่วยในมีผลการศึกษาของตัวแปรจำนวนสมาชิกในครัวเรือน ตัวแปรจำนวนโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง ตัวแปรกลุ่มโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง และตัวแปรร่วมระหว่างดัชนีความั่งคังกับประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้าเช่นเดียวกันกับกรณีผู้ป่วยนอก แต่ยังมีตัวแปรที่มีผลการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมก็คือ ตัวแปรระดับการศึกษาพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับการศึกษาก่อนประถมศึกษามีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีหรือสูงกว่าปริญญาตรี ตัวแปรสถานะภาพสมรสพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่แต่งงานแล้วมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ยังโสด หย่า หม้ายหรือแยกกัน ตัวแปรกลุ่มของโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่ป่วยเป็นกลุ่มโรคเรื้อรังของระบบหายใจมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่ได้ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง ตัวแปรสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลมีผลเพิ่มเติมจากกรณีผู้ป่วยนอกคือผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลเป็นประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้ามีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลอื่น และผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลเป็นประกันสังคม/ กองทุนทดแทนมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลอื่น และจำนวนวันในการเข้าพักในสถานพยาบาลของผู้สูงอายุมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเอง แต่การศึกษาครั้งนี้จะให้ความสำคัญกับตัวแปรดัชนีความมั่งคั่งเพื่อสะท้อนความเหลื่อมล้ำในค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองที่แตกต่างกันในผู้สูงอายุที่มีดัชนีความมั่งคั่งในระดับที่แตกต่างกัน ซึ่งจากผลการศึกษาที่กล่าวมาแล้วนั้น สะท้อนให้เห็นว่าเกิดความเหลื่อมล้ำในค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองขึ้นจริง

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาบทบาทของโขนภายใต้การเปลี่ยนสังคมการเมืองไทย ซึ่งมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงบทบาทไปในลักษณะต่าง ๆ โดยศึกษาว่ามีลักษณะใดบ้าง ใครเป็นผู้ดำเนินการเพื่อสร้างบทบาทใหม่ของโขนในแต่ละช่วงเวลา โดยศึกษาผ่านการวิเคราะห์โดยใช้แนวคิดการครองอำนาจนำผลจากการศึกษาพบว่า พัฒนาการและบทบาทของโขนที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปในแต่ละช่วงเวลาถูกกำหนดโดยชนชั้นปกครอง สะท้อนออกมาในรูปแบบของการใช้โขนเป็นเครื่องมือทางการเมืองเพื่อผลประโยชน์ของตนเอง โดยบทบาทของโขนในสมัยสมบูรณาญาสิทธิราชย์แรกเริ่มเป็นการละเล่นเพื่อแสดงถึงสถานะและความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของพระมหากษัตริย์ ต่อมาบทบาทความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ถูกลดความสำคัญลงไป เหลือเพียงเป็นมหรสพการแสดงเพื่อแสดงศักดานุภาพของพระมหากษัตริย์และแสดงเพื่อความสำราญส่วนพระองค์ ภายหลังการเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครอง 2475 สถานะของโขนถูกเปลี่ยนแปลงหน่วยงานผู้ดูแลจากโขนในราชสำนักมาสู่โขนของรัฐบาล จอมพล ป. พิบูลสงครามได้สร้างบทบาทของโขนผูกกับความเป็นชาติ ต่อมา ม.ร.ว. คึกฤทธิ์ ปราโมชเป็นผู้พัฒนาให้เกาะเกี่ยวคุณค่าของความเป็นไทยและสถาบันกษัตริย์ ซึ่งทั้งหมดล้วนเป็นไปเพื่อผลประโยชน์ของผู้ดำเนินการทั้งสิ้น ต่อมาเมื่อรัฐบาลเริ่มลดบทบาทการใช้โขนเป็นเครื่องมือทางการเมืองลง โขนจึงสามารถพัฒนาให้มีลักษณะเป็นมหรสพการแสดงเพื่อความบันเทิงสำหรับประชาชนอย่างแท้จริงในยุคสมัยนายเสรี หวังในธรรม ทำให้มีจำนวนผู้ชมเพิ่มมากขึ้นในช่วงเวลานี้ ซึ่งดำรงอยู่ได้ในระยะเวลาหนึ่ง และกลับมาประสบปัญหาความซบเซาในด้านจำนวนคนดูลงอีกครั้ง ต่อมากลุ่มสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์เป็นผู้ดำเนินการผลิตโขนของตนเอง ในนามโขนศาลาเฉลิมกรุงและโขนพระราชทาน ซึ่งมีลักษณะเกาะเกี่ยวคุณค่าและอุดมการณ์ของสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ และสามารถทำให้การแสดงโขนกลับมาเป็นกระแสของคนดูอีกครั้ง เป็นการเน้นการรับรู้ถึงคุณค่าของสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ในฐานะผู้อนุรักษ์งานศิลป์ของแผ่นดิน จะเห็นได้ว่ารูปแบบและวิธีการในการใช้โขนเป็นเครื่องมือทางการเมืองของชนชั้นปกครอง สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการสร้างภาวะการครองอำนาจนำทางวัฒนธรรมของชนชั้นปกครอง เพื่อตอบสนองต่อผลประโยชน์ต่อตัวผู้กระทำการเอง และยังส่งผลให้โขนเปลี่ยนแปลงบทบาทในลักษณะต่าง ๆ

This study considers whether close proximity to higher education institutions increases the probability of earning a bachelor’s degree, overeducation, and horizontal mismatch between degree and occupation. Using data from the 2015 and 2016 Labor Force Survey of the National Statistical Office of Thailand, and jobs data from the Ministry of Labor, we find that individuals living in provinces with research or Rajabhat universities are more likely to earn a bachelor’s degree, but does not increase the probability of being overeducated for their job. In addition, we find larger overeducation penalties in provinces with universities. Finally, qualitative analysis shows that demand …

This paper empirically explores causal relation between non-financial information and stock price performance by applying textual analysis to listed firms’ financial disclosure in Thailand. Managers generally use language in Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) report to communicate value-relevant information to investors and other stakeholders. I applied various kinds of approach to quantify qualitative information. I found that, on average, management discussion reports four main topics, which are financial performance, financial status, external factor and industry specific topic. Individual and household level health impacts are related to their wealth, a connection that expands into impacts from drinking water quality. Using the Bangladesh Poverty and Groundwater Salinity Survey 2016, this study examines the relationship of self-reported groundwater salinity on self-reported health impacts that are common symptoms of hypertension among individuals for an association with household-level wealth quintiles. We develop a model for predicting market crashes in the Stock Exchange of Thailand using a deep learning-based anomaly detection approach (LSTM-VAE). The model aims to detect market behavior before each market crash. Apart from the common stock market variables, we feed the model with the indices of systemic risk, and of volatility spillovers. With these two indices, the model takes into account the influences from both inside and outside the particular stock market. We find that in large crashes our model gives the crash warning signals shortly after the SET index reaches its peaks and long before the index …
