Theory Of Lexicographic Differentiation In The Banach Space Setting, Jaeho Choi
Theory Of Lexicographic Differentiation In The Banach Space Setting, Jaeho Choi
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Derivative information is useful for many problems found in science and engineering that require equation solving or optimization. Driven by its utility and mathematical curiosity, researchers over the years have developed a variety of generalized derivatives. In this thesis, we will first take a look at Clarke’s generalized derivative for locally Lipschitz continuous functions between Euclidean spaces, which roughly is the smallest convex set containing all nearby derivatives of a domain point of interest. Clarke’s generalized derivative in this setting possesses a strong theoretical and numerical toolkit, which is analogous to that of the classical derivative. It includes nonsmooth versions …

New Notions From (R; S)-Generalized Fuzzy E-Open Sets, A. Vadivel, P. Periyasamy, V. Chandrasekar, G. Saravanakumar
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The present article discuss (r; s)-generalized fuzzy e-border, (r; s)-generalized fuzzy e-exterior and (r; s)-generalized fuzzy e-frontier in double fuzzy topologies. Furthermore, some characterizations of generalized double fuzzy e-continuous, generalized double fuzzy e-open, generalized double fuzzy e-closed and generalized double fuzzy e-closure-irresolute functions are studied and investigated. Moreover, the interrelations among the new concepts are discussed with some necessary examples.

On A Hybrid Technique To Handle Analytical And Approximate Solutions Of Linear And Nonlinear Fractional Order Partial Differential Equations, Kamal Shah, Hammad Khalil, Ahmet Yildirim
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
This manuscript is devoted to consider Natural transform (NT) coupled with homotopy perturbation method (HPM) for obtaining series solutions to some linear and nonlinear fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs). By means of NT, we obtain the transformed problem which is then solved by using HPM. By means of Stehfest’s numerical algorithm and using the dual relationship of NT and Laplace transform, we calculate inverse NT for approximate solutions. The series solutions we obtain using the proposed method are in close agreement with the exact solutions. We apply the proposed method to some interesting problems to illustrate our main results.
Solutions Of The Generalized Abel’S Integral Equation Using Laguerre Orthogonal Approximation, N. Singha, C. Nahak
Solutions Of The Generalized Abel’S Integral Equation Using Laguerre Orthogonal Approximation, N. Singha, C. Nahak
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, a numerical approximation is drafted for solving the generalized Abel’s integral equation by practicing Laguerre orthogonal polynomials. The proposed approximation is framed for the first and second kinds of the generalized Abel’s integral equation. We have utilized the properties of fractional order operators to interpret Abel’s integral equation as a fractional integral equation. It offers a new approach by employing Laguerre polynomials to approximate the integrand of a fractional integral equation. Given examples demonstrate the simplicity and suitability of the method. The graphical representation of exact and approximate solutions helps in visualizing a solution at discrete points, …
On The Weighted Pseudo Almost Periodic Solutions Of Nicholson’S Blowflies Equation, Ramazan Yazgan, Cemil Tunç
On The Weighted Pseudo Almost Periodic Solutions Of Nicholson’S Blowflies Equation, Ramazan Yazgan, Cemil Tunç
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
This study is concerned with the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of weighted pseudo almost periodic solutions of a generalized Nicholson’s blowflies equation with mixed delays. Using some differential inequalities and a fixed point theorem, sufficient conditions were obtained for the existence, uniqueness of at the least a weighted pseudo almost periodic solutions and global exponential stability of this solution. The results of this study are new and complementary to the previous ones can be found in the literature. At the end of the study an example is given to show the accuracy of our results.
Titchmarsh–Weyl Theory For Vector-Valued Discrete Schrödinger Operators, Keshav R. Acharya
Titchmarsh–Weyl Theory For Vector-Valued Discrete Schrödinger Operators, Keshav R. Acharya
Publications
We develop the Titchmarsh–Weyl theory for vector-valued discrete Schrödinger operators. We show that the Weyl m functions associated with these operators are matrix valued Herglotz functions that map complex upper half plane to the Siegel upper half space. We discuss about the Weyl disk and Weyl circle corresponding to these operators by defining these functions on a bounded interval. We also discuss the geometric properties of Weyl disk and find the center and radius of the Weyl disk explicitly in terms of matrices.

Application Of Reduced Differential Transform Method For Solving Two-Dimensional Volterra Integral Equations Of The Second Kind, Seyyedeh R. Moosavi Noori, Nasir Taghizadeh
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
In this paper, we propose new theorems of the reduced differential transform method (RDTM) for solving a class of two-dimensional linear and nonlinear Volterra integral equations (VIEs) of the second kind. The advantage of this method is its simplicity in using. It solves the equations straightforward and directly without using perturbation, Adomian’s polynomial, linearization or any other transformation and gives the solution as convergent power series with simply determinable components. Also, six examples and numerical results are provided so as to validate the reliability and efficiency of the method.
A Generalization Of Schroter's Formula To George Andrews, On His 80th Birthday, James Mclaughlin
A Generalization Of Schroter's Formula To George Andrews, On His 80th Birthday, James Mclaughlin
Mathematics Faculty Publications
We prove a generalization of Schroter's formula to a product of an arbitrary number of Jacobi triple products. It is then shown that many of the well-known identities involving Jacobi triple products (for example the Quintuple Product Identity, the Septuple Product Identity, and Winquist's Identity) all then follow as special cases of this general identity. Various other general identities, for example certain expansions of (q; q)(infinity) and (q; q)(infinity)(k), k >= 3, as combinations of Jacobi triple products, are also proved.

Predicting Absenteeism Of Female Students In Alabama, Funmilola Okelana
Predicting Absenteeism Of Female Students In Alabama, Funmilola Okelana
Dissertations and Theses
Abstract
Students are chronically absent when they miss at least 15 days of the school year. Past researchers have identified income and environment as factors that affect school absenteeism. Alabama is a poor state with a high crime rate. The hypothesis for this research is that the absenteeism of female students in Alabama is high. Do we reject or fail to reject this hypothesis. If we fail to reject this hypothesis, then what other factors can affect absenteeism in schools? How can we best predict the absenteeism of female students in Alabama? What is the effect of bad data on …
Polynomial And Rational Convexity Of Submanifolds Of Euclidean Complex Space, Octavian Mitrea
Polynomial And Rational Convexity Of Submanifolds Of Euclidean Complex Space, Octavian Mitrea
Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository
The goal of this dissertation is to prove two results which are essentially independent, but which do connect to each other via their direct applications to approximation theory, symplectic geometry, topology and Banach algebras. First we show that every smooth totally real compact surface in complex Euclidean space of dimension 2 with finitely many isolated singular points of the open Whitney umbrella type is locally polynomially convex. The second result is a characterization of the rational convexity of a general class of totally real compact immersions in complex Euclidean space of dimension n..

University of New Orleans Theses and Dissertations
We will create a class of generalized ellipses and explore their ability to define a distance on a space and generate continuous, periodic functions. Connections between these continuous, periodic functions and the generalizations of trigonometric functions known in the literature shall be established along with connections between these generalized ellipses and some spectrahedral projections onto the plane, more specifically the well-known multifocal ellipses. The superellipse, or Lam\'{e} curve, will be a special case of the generalized ellipse. Applications of these generalized ellipses shall be explored with regards to some one-dimensional systems of classical mechanics. We will adopt the Ramberg-Osgood relation …
