Hydrogen Production From Biogas By Oxy-Reforming: Reaction System Analysis, Aleksandra Terlecka, Wojciech M. Budzianowski
Hydrogen Production From Biogas By Oxy-Reforming: Reaction System Analysis, Aleksandra Terlecka, Wojciech M. Budzianowski
Wojciech Budzianowski
Oxy-reforming is emerging as an interesting alternative to conventional methods of hydrogen generation. The current article characterises this process through analysis of individual reactions: SMR (steam methane reforming), WGS (water gas shift) and CPO (catalytic partial oxidation). Analyses relate to optimisation of thermal conditions thus enabling cost-effectivenes of the process.

An Overview Of Technologies For Upgrading Of Biogas To Biomethane, Wojciech M. Budzianowski
Wojciech Budzianowski
The present contribution presents an overview of technologies available for upgrading of biogas to biomethane. Technologies under study include pressure swing adsorption (PSA), high-pressure water wash (HPWW), reactive absorption (RA), physical absorption (PA), membrane separation (MS) and cryogenic separation (CS).
Influence Of Energy Policy On The Rate Of Implementation Of Biogas Power Plants In Germany During The 2001-2010 Decade, Izabela Chasiak, Wojciech M. Budzianowski
Influence Of Energy Policy On The Rate Of Implementation Of Biogas Power Plants In Germany During The 2001-2010 Decade, Izabela Chasiak, Wojciech M. Budzianowski
Wojciech Budzianowski
The current article describes energy policy tools, which caused intensive development of biogas-based power generation in Germany during the 2001-2010 decade. The German system of financial support to biogas power plants is presented in details. It is shown that in Germany, i.e. in a country characterised by similar climate and potentials to renewable energy to Poland, biogas power plants cover 10,7% of electricity demands in 2010, while all renewable energy sources cover only 5,4% of electricity demands. It is emphasised that under favourable Polish energy policy, the development of biogas energy can be very rapid.

Finding Positive Solutions Of Boundary Value Dynamic Equations On Time Scale, Olusegun Michael Otunuga
Finding Positive Solutions Of Boundary Value Dynamic Equations On Time Scale, Olusegun Michael Otunuga
Theses, Dissertations and Capstones
This thesis is on the study of dynamic equations on time scale. Most often, the derivatives and anti-derivatives of functions are taken on the domain of real numbers, which cannot be used to solve some models like insect populations that are continuous while in season and then follow a difference scheme with variable step-size. They die out in winter, while the eggs are incubating or dormant; and then they hatch in a new season, giving rise to a non overlapping population. The general idea of my thesis is to find the conditions for having a positive solution of any boundary …

Hartman-Grobman Theorems Along Hyperbolic Stationary Trajectories, Edson A. Coayla-Teran, Salah-Eldin A. Mohammed, Paulo Régis C. Ruffino
Articles and Preprints
We extend the Hartman-Grobman theorems on discrete random dynamical systems (RDS), proved in [7], in two directions: For continuous RDS and for hyperbolic stationary trajectories. In this last case there exists a conjugacy between traveling neighbourhoods of trajectories and neighbourhoods of the origin in the corresponding tangent bundle. We present applications to deterministic dynamical systems.
A Mathematical Model For Treatment-Resistant Mutations Of Hiv, Helen Moore, Weiqing Gu
A Mathematical Model For Treatment-Resistant Mutations Of Hiv, Helen Moore, Weiqing Gu
All HMC Faculty Publications and Research
In this paper, we propose and analyze a mathematical model, in the form of a system of ordinary differential equations, governing mutated strains of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and their interactions with the immune system and treatments. Our model incorporates two types of resistant mutations: strains that are not responsive to protease inhibitors, and strains that are not responsive to reverse transcriptase inhibitors. It also includes strains that do not have either of these two types of resistance (wild-type virus) and strains that have both types. We perform our analysis by changing the system of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) to …
Discrete-Time Approximations Of Stochastic Delay Equations: The Milstein Scheme, Yaozhong Hu, Salah-Eldin A. Mohammed, Feng Yan
Discrete-Time Approximations Of Stochastic Delay Equations: The Milstein Scheme, Yaozhong Hu, Salah-Eldin A. Mohammed, Feng Yan
Articles and Preprints
In this paper, we develop a strong Milstein approximation scheme for solving stochastic delay differential equations (SDDE's). The scheme has convergence order 1. In order to establish the scheme, we prove an infinite-dimensional Itô formula for "tame" functions acting on the segment process of the solution of an SDDE. It is interesting to note that the presence of the memory in the SDDE requires the use of the Malliavin calculus and the anticipating stochastic analysis of Nualart and Pardoux. Given the non-anticipating nature of the SDDE, the use of anticipating calculus methods appears to be novel.
