Terapi Manual Dan Terapi Latihan Meningkatkan Kemampuan Fungsional Pada Kasus Cervical Syndrome Et Causa Flat Neck : Studi Kasus, Faizah Abdullah Djawas, Rafiqoh Nur Huwaida

Jurnal Fisioterapi Terapan Indonesia or Indonesian Journal of Applied Physiotherapy

Cervical syndrome is a collection of symptoms, especially pain around the cervical spine. Pain in cervical syndrome is more common in conditions related to the deformity of the cervical vertebrae, one of which is a flat neck or conditions where cervical lordosis is reduced. When the lordosis curve disappears, the vertical load will be redistributed along the anterior portion of the cervical spine, causing pressure on soft tissue and surrounding bone. This can lead to various musculoskeletal problems. The combination of manual therapy and exercise is suggested to reduce problems such as pain, limitations of the range of motion (ROM), …

What Is The Evidence For The Effectiveness Of Scapulothoracic Strengthening Exercises In Individuals With Neck Pain: A Systematic Review, Anna-Maria Zacharakis, Lauren Mia Zanelli, Holly Rose Watkins, Lea Victoria O'Brien, Evan James Wolfendale, George Harry White, Matt Ransom

Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice

Neck pain is a highly prevalent issue, ranked as the fourth greatest issue worldwide in terms of overall disease burden, and consequently, places a substantial impact upon the healthcare system. Scapulothoracic exercises appear as a promising avenue for the treatment of neck pain amongst the various treatment options currently available. However, there is uncertainty surrounding the effectiveness and clinical application of this approach. Purpose: The aim of this review was to establish the evidence surrounding the clinical application and effectiveness of scapulothoracic strengthening exercises to reduce neck pain. Methods: A systematic search of four electronic databases, including Ovid Medline, Scopus, …

Resistance Training For Rehabilitation After Burn Injury: A Systematic Literature Review And Meta-Analysis, P Gittings, T Grisbrook, Dale Edgar, F Wood, B Wand, N O'Connell

Physiotherapy Papers and Journal Articles

Background/aim: Resistance training is beneficial for rehabilitation in many clinical conditions, though this has not been systematically reviewed in burns. The objective was to determine the effectiveness of resistance training on muscle strength, lean mass, function, quality of life and pain, in children and adults after burn injury.

Methods: Medline & EMBASE, PubMed, CINAHL and CENTRAL were searched from inception to October 2016. Studies were identified that implemented resistance training in rehabilitation. Data were combined and included in meta-analyses for muscle strength and lean mass. Otherwise, narrative analysis was completed. The quality of evidence for each outcome was summarised and …

Kinesio Taping On Short-Term Changes In Shoulder Strength In Healthy Adults: A Randomized Clinical Trial, Dario A. Callegari, Cristobal E. Cordova, Julia R. Dunievitz May 2012

Kinesio Taping On Short-Term Changes In Shoulder Strength In Healthy Adults: A Randomized Clinical Trial, Dario A. Callegari, Cristobal E. Cordova, Julia R. Dunievitz

UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones

Study Type: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Introduction:

Kinesio tape is an elastic tape used in various settings and it is purported to assist in strengthening weakened muscles. The mechanism behind this claim is neuromuscular facilitation. The purpose of this study was to determine if the claims of Kinesio tape would be supported in its role in strength enhancing properties.

Methods:

Twenty-nine healthy, untrained male and female college-aged individuals participated in this study. Two baseline measurements assessing shoulder external rotation (ER) strength were collected using isokinetic dynamometry. Subjects were then randomized into two groups, Kinesio tape with ER strengthening (KT-Ex) and …

Early Rehabilitation Targeting Cognition, Behavior, And Motor Function After Lumbar Fusion. A Randomized Controlled Trial, Allan Abbott, Raija Tyni-Lenne´, Rune Hedlund

Allan D. Abbott

Study Design - Open label randomized controlled trial with 3-, 6-, 12-month, and 2- to 3-year follow-up.

Objective - To investigate the effectiveness of a psychomotor therapy focusing on cognition, behavior, and motor relearning compared with exercise therapy applied during the first 3 months after lumbar fusion.

Summary of Background Data - Postoperative management after lumbar fusion commonly focuses on analgesic pain control and activities of daily living. After 3 months, exercise therapy is often implemented. No randomized controlled trial has investigated early rehabilitation techniques conducted during the first 3 months after surgery.

Methods - The study recruited 107 patients, …
